The comment around the bracket is spot on ! Having a quick release system for a aquis where it doesn’t fit any other after market strap Without a quick release in the bracket of diver 65 where this is potentially a strap monster where you wish to mix and match different style, and with a single spring bar tool, it is not that easy to remove the bracelet Would prefer if diver 65 got the quick change instead of aquis

Hey Lawrence, that's a very good point you make. Other than the Selitta movement being somewhat inconsistent, all other points raised do not detract from the fact that overall the Aquis is a very good watch. Thanks for stopping by. Ben, L2L.

There is a guy on ebay that custom make leather strap for Oris proprietary type watches for for less than fifty bucks. I have the 43.5 GMT and other than running about 4 seconds slow (I'm going to get around to regulating it some day) it is a good machine. I like the screws fastening the bracelet on. I have lost two watches due to strap pins giving out.

My Oris big crown propilot is shitty on accuracy as well, but I sort it out by not wearing it everyday. Thanks to the 38 hr power reserve, the watch stops running before it loses another 10~15 seconds IMAO......but I’m still an Oris fan though....

For people rotating through a watch collection and wearing a different watch every day or couple of days, how accurate does a movement have to be? I mean if it’s accurate to the minute within 24hours, do you even notice?

I had a good look at this watch and the Maurice Lacroix Aikon with black rubber strap hands on and chose the ML. The Oris bracelet felt very cheap I thought and dial very bland and logo too big on dial. The ML felt much better quality plus a few Hundred pound cheaper as it was on sale.

The Trident Pro 600 is a great watch, but just for info it uses the exact same Sellita SW200-1 movement as the Aquis.

  • @canadianwatchmonkey3992

I’m going to state the obvious, the diver 65 and the Aquis share the same movement. You mention that the Aquis was losing several seconds a day that still is very good and is much better then what Seiko advertises as excerptible.

yea man it's a fkin shame that oris doesn't bother to at least use a slightly higher grade movement in their base aquis (excluding the overpriced cal400), otherwise bang for buck it will completely dominates all sub $2500 divers. Even the much cheaper Hydroconquest keeps time better like a cosc piece
