All those apps I purchased way back in 2011 hundreds of them works flawlessly on my iPad1 and IPad 2. So many retro apps and games that I can still play that are currently delisted due to licensing that you can’t play on modern hardware but runs like a champ on older iPads. 🎉

I still use my iPad 2 for middle school and it works amazingly well

When i found an iPad 1st generation: it was a boot loop and it couldn’t restore and it needed new batteries.

When I open iTunes or the App Store on my first Gen iPad (which I got and it was reset and then I signed in with my Apple ID), running iPad OS 5.1.1, I get the message Cannot connect to iTunes Store. Do you know the solution, or did they recently fully shut that down?

Apple stopped support for older versions of App Store and iTunes Store.

The iPad 1 was one of the worst devices Apple ever launched (similiar the first non 3G iPhone, which I condemn less harshly because it was the first device of a completely new device category) The first iPad was a bigger iPhone and at the time the iPhone 4 had 512 MB RAM (screen 960 x 640 pixels), the iPad only 256 MB even though the screen displayed 1024 x 768 pixels that had to be "moved" with half the RAM. Both with the same SGX535 GPU. Throwing such a underpowered device onto the market was really a cheek - what were they thinking ?! 😡 Well, they made one thing clear: DON'T buy 1st gen Apple devices.
