Origami Bag Tutorial with Lining - Easy DIY Market Tote Bag Sewing Project
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Origami Bag Tutorial - The Origami Bag (also known as the Origami Market Tote Bag or azuma bukuro) is a nice simple diy tote bag that would suit a beginner. You could make this with just one piece of fabric but we like having a lining, hence why we are using two pieces. We've also boxed the corners but you can choose not to do that if you wish. This is a nice easy sewing project for beginners.

Thank you for making an instructional video where you actually take the time to explain things instead of playing annoying music and just showing quick clips of what you're doing. I want to attempt to make this bag and I think this video will be quite helpful to me. I was very happy to find it!

I love the butterfly fabric. Thank you for the tutorial!
This is amazing!!! I can't wait to make one. It's perfect for those big scraps of fabric that you don't want to throw away but aren't big enough to make a wearable garmet! 🥰♥️
I DID IT! I'm embarrassed to say how many times I watch your video in order to make my bag and I kept the laptop near me as I worked on my bag, but I DID IT PERFECTLY! OMG, I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I'm going to help my 11 year old grandaughter make one now.

Don't be embarrassed. Regrettably, I'm spatially challenged, and I struggle (always persevere through my failures) until I get it right. Inside out, upside down, sideways twists, leave me dizzy! My first quilt binding final join...you would have thought I was launching a rocket! Once learned, though, mastered.
Very easy to follow instructions. Lovely bag which I will use for my knitting! Love your accent Alanda!
This is the BEST origami bag tutorial I've watched!!!

Thank you for your comment. Я сделал эти сумки из 100% -ого хлопка, и я также использовал холст и ткань обстановки. Есть менее драпированный эффект с холстом. I have made these bags with 100% cotton and I have also used canvas and furnishing fabrics. There is a less draped effect with canvas.
I’ve been an avid knitter all my life and I’ve always sewed a little bit, but THIS makes me want to dive head first into sewing! Wow! Love it!

Excellent Dori, you are most welcome. And these bags will make great gifts with Xmas not too far away.
LOVE your tutorial. Watched someone else's tutorial about putting pockets in bags. So I sewed this origami bag out of old sheets then I took it apart to figure out where a zippered pocket could go on the inside of the bag. I only put in one pocket, but there's room for 2. The finished bag with a zippered pocket turned out so well, I'm giving it to my boss for a gift! Your tutorial helped pushed me to learn many new things. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Don't watch the needle as you sew...instead watch the fabric as it feeds keeping it straight against the seam allowance marks on the face plate...I sew every day making market bags with a lot of top stitching. I've extended the measuring lines on my machine with marker and a straight edge so I've got an even better line to guide my fabric against. Blue painter's tape is another trick I use when top stitching away from the fabric edge. I place it then stitch alongside it. Just some thoughts...hard to explain this stuff without a visual. Love this bag, so glad I came across it!
No comments for 2 years but I hope you'll see this, I just finished two of these bags, they'll be gifts for my sisters for Christmas. I used upholstery fabric clearance and they came out just great. I was surprised how quickly they sewed up and have another cut out for me!
