Yea!! Great information! I have done some such thing like this. I moved to a different spot in the basement, there are three of us full time in the house…. And only four corners of the house….teehee…. I have been working on getting it in place for a long time now…. The helps me get going and press on. Thank you.

Great ideas! I was ready to walk in my little purple craft room(32 year old daughter’s old bedroom) and destash all willy nilly! Now, I can take a breath and think about all the things I want to do and actually do in this space.

It always feels a little better to have a plan going in or the whole destash process can get very overwhelming very quickly!

Another tip I'd offer for furniture arranging is to draw a scale layout on paper of your room, like you did with the graph paper. Basically, just the overall dimensions, marking any permanent built-ins, etc., but drawn to scale. (For instance, 2 squares on graph paper equal 1 foot of space.) Then, for any moveable furniture pieces you have or want, make scale paper "mock-ups" of those - just the footprint length x width dimensions, not including the height - & then you can move those around on your drawn room layout. An easy way to play with furniture placement & actually make sure a layout will work - and furniture pieces will fit - before moving the real things or buying something that may end up not working size-wise. I hope that makes sense. You just have to make sure that the room layout sketch/diagram AND the paper furniture pieces are in the same scale (e.g. 2 squares = 1 foot), or it won't work as easily. Thank you for sharing these tips, Elisa. I am not on an organizing crusade at the moment, but am definitely going to download your packet for any future need. I hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving. Great information. I am just starting a project to move my craft room to another area in our home. I want to reorganize as I move. I looked for the printout on you web page, but could not find it. Thank you for this reminder to always have a plan. I am starting art classes in January and want to be organized and not having to hunt every day for things 😊.

Thank u Elisa. I so greatly appreciate this free download. I have already looked around my house 2 repurpose some items in2 my craft room. I find that really fun & encouraging. Especially when u don't have any extra money 2 devote 2 your craft room. I have found some items have worked & some don't, but that is ok. It is fun 2 go through your home & go shopping. What r your thoughts as far finding a place 4 items. That u use, but every once in a while. 4 example I have 1 of the cricut machines that u use cartridges with it. I will pull it out every once in a while. I don't use it every day. I might use it 2 - 4 times a year. It all depends on the projects I'm using it 4. Have a great, blessed day. I think you should organize based on usage. So, if you don't use it very often at all, store it away, perhaps even out of your main space. But I like to leave a "bread crumb" of sorts to remind me of its existence. So for the Cricut, maybe storing the cartridges where you can be reminded of them, but putting the machine away.
