For what looks like not a lot of cabinet space, it is deceiving! You really have quite a lot of storage area!

You are rocking that outfit! You look so pretty and fresh, it matches your personality!

I really like the idea of having storage from counter level down to the floor. It does look open & airy like she said. That's a very lovely kitchen. I'm short and my upper kitchen cabinets are not user friendly for me. Just wasted space.

As a lifelong Trekkie, I also really love your Star Trek references! 😄💕Anywho, I wanted to say, here in the US, there’s been a lot of things going on that have been stressful/worrying and it feels like things are out of control. With that said, I’d like to control of what I can and do something that makes me feel good and proud. Unfortunately, last week I was just getting going with I had a sciatica attack. I’ve been stuck in bed as the dishes pile up and the chaos gets worse. I’m getting better though so I’ll start over and see if can get that kitchen tackled today but only a little at a time. Thanks again! You are awesome and such an inspiration! 👏 💕

Enjoying my coffee this morning on my patio. It’s a beautiful cool morning in Ohio and our yard is buzzing with birds, squirrels and bunnies. Looking forward to Zone 2 cleaning this week. Bed sheets are in the wash and I will do my Weekly Home Blessing Hour today, along with my routines. I’m totally loving the Fly Lady system. I reported a few weeks ago that hubby started decluttering the garage, yay! He decluttered his medicine cabinet without any prompting from me. Last week in Zone 1, I decluttered our coat closet, made some donations and tossed a few things. I was so proud that you can actually see the floor in there and that there is room now for the coats and jackets we do use!

We have cupboards over the work tops too but you have much more storage in just your base units I think. So much wasted space in ours with corner cupboards that are hard to get at and so dark it's hard to see what's in them. Getting a bit of decluttering done today so go me. The microwave and dishwasher died at the beginning of lockdown but we've managed without them so far so debating whether we actually need to bother replacing them. Looking lovely and summery in the red and white today 😀 xx

@@pennypincher5495 we don't have a microwave after moving house, as we've coped without, we won't bother...and....we lived in a rented house for a while until our house purchase completed and had no toaster, we realised that toast was much nicer under the grill...more crisp, less soggy. So when the toaster dies that won't be replaced either. My DH also quite likes washing up, so we are thinking that when the d/w that we inherited gives up, we won't replace that either! SO that equals, more base cupboards and less stuff on the worktop, maybe no wall cupboards required...less cleaning...woohoo! Go you! x

Thank you so much! Things that seemed common sense to you were new ideas for me! I have cabinetry above the countertop as well as below, so my most treasured item is my kitchen step stool. I’m 4 ft. 11 in.! This month and last I have cleaned the outside of all the cabinets. Now I am reorganizing the cabinets. Then I will go in and give the insides a good cleaning. A little at a time. Loved all your advice. Never, ever sell yourself short, dear Diane.

Lucky are those that have draws in the kitchen

Love the look of no upper cabinets it’s something that I’ve always thought I’d want to do if ever I revamp my kitchen. I hate the cleaning of upper cabinets and also on top of them collects so much dust, also it looks open and airy. I also like pull out draws. Easy to see everything at a glance. That seat/ storage is clever. Love it.

I love the way your kitchen uses the space under the cabinets for another drawer! I often think about that wasted space. WE used to have cabinets that went far back, and you had to dive in to get things. The one shelf in each lower cabinet was only about half the size of the bottom shelf. My husband fixed all that by putting in slide out shelves with edges (so basically drawers). Now I have shallow drawers and I keep boxes or baskets to keep things separated into their category too. Poggenpohl has a brilliant system! If I was starting over, I would get that too. Thank you for the tour!

I would love to have more drawers. I have very few of them; instead, I have cabinets. Some are very high where I have to stretch to reach things, and I'm 5'10".:) Thanks for sharing your set up; it has given me ideas. Have a good day...

Hi Diane! Very methodical storage😁👍. I have a kitchen/ diner/ living space with up and down cupboards and a pantry. This means I like to keep counters clear and everything hidden. With children helping to put dishes away we switch what goes where regularly...recently they got into making smoothies so the equipment got put in an easier to reach spot. I now declutter most cupboards while in zone 2 and it really helps using the space well. Happy new week everyone🎉😊

fruit cuppa soup...oh yes! And I love your mix of English and Danish labelling. Your kitchen is the same as the one we left behind when we moved...ours is now a bit tired and our house is 300yo, so difficult to know how to change it to keep it light and clean (love flat front cupboards) but in keeping with our beautiful old house with its beams and tiny windows. Have managed to fit the clean, de-clutter, project on one side and pamper, garden and errands on the reverse of an A4 sheet, printed it on coloured paper and laminated it for zone 2, added batteries, candles and shoe cleaning stuff to the shopping list. Also on clean I added empty toaster and wipe and also filters on cooker hood, d/w, w/m and tumble. Having certain things in certain cupboards means writing a shopping list and cleaning is so much easier. I only have 4 small drawers and have been looking for boxes to fit to get it better organised...2 of the drawers are utensils, small in one and large (plus knives) in the other. Having done my MR, made a start on zone 2 cleaning AND half of my WHB, I'm now going to reward myself with making another sheet for another zone....woohoo! Thanks Diane, you are a⭐...🎆🎆🎆

@@DianeinDenmark Jeg kan ikke fa armenen ned....such a good day AGAIN! vacuumed, mopped and oiled the kitchen diner floor (36 ft long!!) vacuumed and polished the Bergere sofa and put covers into the wash, washed and wiped table, chairs x 6 including spindles, legs etc and also washed the cushion pads, featherdusted beams, lights, corners...(even down the back of the radiator!), aired the rug over the washing line, cleaned the patio doors on the inside, polished furniture and did my MR...I am now totally pooped but enjoying it and my little vase of 'blooms' with a glass of wine whilst watching DH cook Paella! Hope your day was a good one....here's a Ra-Ra-Ra for you xxx 🎇🎇🎇

Love love love your kitchen and the storage ideas. This is my only problematic room ☹️. I have lots of stuff (all of which I use), but I’m in a rented house. It’s so refreshing to see a clutter free kitchen. I’m planning on adding one more set of kitchen flooring cabinets to give me more storage, so will look for something similar to yours! In my last house we had a lot of pan drawers instead of wall cupboards which I loved as I'm not very tall. We now live in an old house with a small traditional UK kitchen and I soo miss those drawers, but you just have to make the most of what you have don't you. Love the idea of using old boxes to organise; I fo this in my bedroom drawers but never thought to do the same in the kitchen. Who needs posh storage boxes to be organised!

Love what you did with the Hama beads. Had a virtual craft night Fridaynite with some girlfriends. We all did different things...painting pictures, crochet, I made note cards with Photos of my garden. The list goes on. It was a productive, fun 2 hours. Just shows what can happen when you plan and play!! Thanks for the motivation. My pantry needs major organization.

Your kitchen is so beautiful and well organized. I love how everything pulls out for easy access. I had to install pullout racks in my cabinets to have easy access to the contents. Using boxes to keep like items together is a great idea, I do the same as much as possible in my kitchen. 🙂

That was so fun! I have a large kitchen with upper and lower cabinets plus drawers plus a large pantry in my second kitchen (the previous owners housed extra people in their addition to the house). 2 frigs plus an extra freezer. One more child leaving the nest in July leaving us with 4 children at home. Plus another planning on moving out soon. I will be decreasing the amount of food and hopefully get it down to no pantry needed and it can all be in the kitchen! The extra frig is so nice for lots of produce😊

I'm kinda nosey (haha) so I really liked seeing what you had in your kitchen drawers. Thanks for all the great ideas, I've never thought to put cans/jars on their sides! PS I made a window seat pad like yours and used green shower curtain to make a cover. Loving it!

Great video, Diane. We may be kindred spirits - when I was watching your video this morning I did wonder if we were separated at birth! I too have 'thrifty' drawer containers with everything stored in trays rescued from cardboard boxes and recycled plastic containers. It's really helpful to have seen your approach to organisation and inspirational for my zone-two decluttering activities this week - with especial attention to my tea cupboard! I enjoyed your kitchen tour. It was very helpful as I am trying to reorganize mine to make it more functional for me. My kitchen is not large but I do have both drawers below and cabinets above the countertops. The cabinets reach the ceiling and the top two shelves are so high (and I am so short) that they are almost unusable for anything except items I rarely, if ever, need. I love your use of boxes to keep like items together and the idea of separating small and large utensils rather than placing like items together. Thank you for your help.

Well done, Diane!! Love your kitchen style! Most kitchens here are floor to ceiling so at 5ft 3ish inches, I'm always grabbing the stepstool. But, DH loves it bc he is 6 ft 2". Was so inspired after listening to you during my early am walk that I straightened our lower cabinet that holds the tea towels, cookbooks, and small appliances such as the hand mixer( whisk ), and a blender. Anyway, I had thought, "Will there be anything in here to declutter ...perhaps not bc I just tidied it last month." SurPriSe!!!! 3 tea towels were past their best and not my fave....then, BAM!! 4 cookbooks that DD19 reminded me were never being used nor enjoyed. ( She is an awesome and practical minded T4😍 ) Plus, a couple of appliance manuals went away😁 Happy Zone 2 Monday🍫🍵

My kitchen is very similar, all drawers, bench with drawers underneath and wooden countertop as a seat. The same countertop used throughout the kitchen. I also have a few hanging units since my kitchen is so tiny. I have always wanted the toekick drawers, I will put this on my DIY list. I LOVE Poggenpohl kitchens, unfortunately the higher end European design is absolutely ridiculous in pricing where I live.

So jealous of your wonderful tidy kitchen! Mine was knocked right out, ready to install a new one just before lockdown ! We went into lockdown 3 days before my new kitchen was meant to be delivered, so I've been living with just my old sink and washing machine in place and one small working surface. I've no flooring, no tiles no storage, no blinds,nothing! My dining room which joins my kitchen is in a similar state, no flooring and just bare plaster walls , and contains just huge boxes containing my new oven, new fridge freezer, sink and taps, so no space in there either! It's been tricky! Can't wait for lockdown restrictions to ease enough here in the uk to allow me to start getting people back in to get things ready and then get a new date for my kitchen to be delivered and to get everything installed! Will definitely have fun organising it all when its all done. I've gone for lots of drawers like yours rather than all ordinary cupboards. Most of my kitchen stuff and food is for now stuffed into one small under stair cupboard, it's a total mess and muddle, can't wait to be able to tackle a good declutter of things when I've can start moving it all back. You can see them in the drawer underneath the cutlery/plates. Our fancy serving bowls/fine china service is stored in the dining room sideboard (you can see it in my zone 1 videos) 🖐😁
