I've been flying for several years with varying success and diligence. I'm soooo much more content when I use the routines. Even if I don't tick off all the boxes each day, my home is nicer and I'm more content at days end. Today I watched while eating lunch to get myself pepped up for a happy afternoon.🎉🎉

Most beautiful outfit yet! Again, thank you for all that you do. When I get crabby about the work that I have to do around the house Diane, I remind myself how lucky I am to have a house, a sink, a dishwasher, a washing machine ...and how many people live on so little. Like you said, if you have to do something, make the best out of it!

I work outside the home and we enter/exit our home through the basement. My washer/dryer is in the basement so I have to walk right by it at least twice a day :) so when I get home I fold my LOL, prep the launch pad for the next day, scoop the kitty litter, all before I go upstairs. I have found this daily rhythm to be just what I need to transistion from work to home in the late afternoon. I love my routines and I have you to thank Diane

Hello Diane. I have been following you for over a year now and you have helped me change my life for the better by teaching us the Fly Lady and Getting Things Done systems. I am a 45 year old mom and wife who has been struggling with temporarily having to give up my career for a few years due to a chronic pain condition. These systems have helped me soooo much to get through the tough days and take better care of myself and my family and have fun doing it. Your bright, positive personality continually cheers me up and brightens my life. My husband jokes that you are my hero. :). Thank you! On your recommendation I also started the DYT program and believe I’m a Type 1/3. What an enlightening process this self inquiry has been for me. (Hurrah, shake the pom poms!) Thanks so much for sharing this. With all respect, I just want to give you a big grateful hug! It also has been so fun to see your own progress. Your hair looks fantastic today and the shirt seems absolutely perfect for your style. What a great find. Thanks for being you Diane. Warm regards, Jenny in Germany

Looking great Diane. These routines change your life. I could not have imagined how a clean shiny sink before bedtime could give me such peace of mind. When you wake up knowing there is no washing up to do it's fabulous and because I no longer have a dishwasher I don't even have to unload it. Your tip of setting the table for breakfast is good . Before my husband had his stroke he would never leave dirty dishes in the sink . He was a chef many years ago and he often cooked and left the kitchen spotless. Until I found flylady I struggled to juggle looking after him with housework and everything else. I did it but it seemed a chore. Now I have more time for us and the home looks better for it. Life is so much less stressful. Lots of love from Margaret in Cyprus

Greetings from Florida! So glad that I found your KZread channel a few months ago! In the 80's I was using the 3" X 5" Index cards and the Slob Sister's Side Tracked Home Executive system. In early 2001 I had started a new career path and found that I needed to get back to a system of routines and when I went online to prepare to set the SHE system up & operational again I found FlyLady & her way of using routines and they have served me well for all of these years. That is until a couple of years ago when I slowly quit doing my routines due to my husbands health issues. I am still working in a very demanding position and my husband now has Stage 4 Melanoma. The enormous change in our lives brought on by the health issues and the exhaustion that comes with the process of trips to the oncologist every two weeks and keeping up with the demands of my job just left our routines and any semblance of them gone. I needed to get back on track not only for my physical surroundings but also for the emotional comfort and calm that the routines provide and figure out how to have even a moment of me time and that is when I found your channel! You have inspired me and you are my go to for getting back "into the zone"!! I've been adapting the routines to fit what our lives are now and doing what I can when I can and the timer is back in action and it's working. Also our traveling has been brought to a halt at this time so I am traveling vicariously through your videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to make the videos, love them and they have inspired me just when I was struggling the most to keep life going. Also enjoy the Getting Things Done videos......Thank you so much Diane.

Thank you and your videos are like a hug! I just realized that by putting even a little bit of planning and routines into place I can actually take up the offers of assistance that friends and family are always offering. Without the planning & routines I can't identify what I need so I have shrugged off the very kind and sincere offers to help that I really need.

Love that you are doing s goulash refresher course. I just moved & down sized...from a 3 BR home to a 2 BR town home. Loving it. I was free (in my mind) to get rid of solo much stuff. It's only been about a month & I have just a few more boxes to go. Without the goulash system and 2-5-10-15 min at a time...I wouldn't be as far long as I have. All while keeping my new home clean...and....uncluttered (outside of the two designated clutter boxes.... area) which I work on a few minutes a day.

When it comes to routines they really are the glue that holds things together. If I let my routines slide for more than a few days, it shows in the house and I feel begin to more flustered because I'm not as prepared, in the morning to get out the door or in the evening related to cooking dinner. I'm loving your "refresher" as I did get a bit off track in August due to travel and the excessive heat, so the timing is perfect to encourage me as I get back into my routines.

I've been picking and choosing in the past. For example I don't swish the toilet every day. But the one in our ensuite gets a lot of use and could use it. So I'm going to dig in. As an aside, I just love the clothing you are wearing in the refresher videos. So fresh and upbeat.

My morning and evening routines help me to feel far more in control of my home and life and make me feel calm and collected. I appreciate that someone finally addresses these issues for those of us outside of the house. With the headache of commuting and all that, it's really hard to find time or desire to do these things. I have 3 hours from the time I'm home to get everything done, and get to bed. That's horrible. But that's my issue. I wish more people did the work outside of the home videos to show real life for a lot more of us.

Hi Diane, Happy Little Saturday from Oregon! :) I am an empty nester. I just took my daughter to college yesterday. I am going to go back to work part-time after I get a few things in line in my home. I was not aware of the Flylady app. I will load that. I have messed off all summer with my house just doing the basics. Now I have a lot of cleaning and painting to do. So I appreciate your videos as a motivator and learning through your Flylady refresher course. I like setting the time for youtube. I generally have my breakfast when I watch youtube but I can stay on it for a long time. My bad. Have a beautiful day Diane!! :) Becki

Not giving up! I am seeing success changing my evening routine to suit me. How did you know about my "DaNgeR Zone?" haha! Knowing that I get tired if I sit down after dinner, I finish the dinner dishes before I reward myself with some chocolate or cup of tea. I have decided to move my "am" cup of tea to the evening, so that I will be motivated to finish that dinner clean-up. And, I have now added lighting a candle to the evening too:) Thank you for introducing the need to "Hygge"...it has blessed me in this way.

Dear Diane in Denmark. You facinated me the first video I watched-about a month ago. You were decluttering your side-board in the dining room. I was trying to understand how to declutter. Your rooms are so clear, they echoed. Really? I thought, YOU need to declutter? And then I watched you like a magician explain everything on and in that piece of furniture that had three drawers, mostly empty and yet you found things to declutter and when you explained each item, I understood. I was riveted and have watched many of your videos since that day. Every once in a while, you say something I really need to hear. Thank you. I added some Hugge (probably misspelled that) and I couldn't believe how much more contentment there is in the house due to some automatic candles scattered about. Thank you. Now, I'm down to the question: I have been foolish in my purchasing of some things. Obvious now that clutter is gone. I don't know what to do, but my bounty is clutter too! I have way too many notepads. Way too many sets of sheets. Way too many hand lotions that will rot before I can get them all used up. What do you do with an embarrassment of plenty? I'm embarassed to actually put that in print for the world to see. Flybaby, Nina in Kansas

Hi Diane! May I ask, do you run your dishwasher twice a day? Morning and evening? I have often felt the need to run it twice a day but have very few dishes in the morning to make it worthwhile. How do you handle this? Thanks...

Once a day, sometimes twice a day at the weekend. If I don't have a full load, I will add in the lids of our recycling bins, the extractor fan filters etc.

I've done Flylady before but now that I am working from home fulltime somehow I find it a lot harder to do it. I either start doing a lot of tasks during the day while I should be working. Or I don't do much at all. And then there is keeping my office clean: seeing it as the extra room won't work because I'm there so much. Do you have any videos for working from home ladies?

Ever since the summer, and I know you warned us about keeping up with our routines even thought it is summer, for some reason I just could not get myself organized at all. Perhaps it was everyone was home and one thing and then another I could not focus and maintain my determination. Now school is back in gear and I’ve started up a home business my mind is going in a million different directions. Help. I’m sinking fast. Any wise words ???💕

Yes! What I said at the end of this video...pick yourself up by doing your Morning and Evening Routine, add in a Weekly Home Blessing and refocus yourself. Do a 5 minute room rescue in the main areas of the house (kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom). Sit down for 10 minutes and do "a brain dump" (write down everything which is on your mind). Do you remember the Getting Things Done list I suggested? Here's a video kzread.info/dash/bejne/nGqFrpaQodmbYbw.html

Thanks Diane. I re listened to your video. I must just stay focused on only one task at a time and use my timer!! My problem I see the huge picture of both my routines/tasks and the work that needs to be done towards my business and then I think OMG. Yikes. So I must stay positive and focus do one thing at a time and stay the course. It is so good to have your videos and we can bend your esr❤️🎉🎉

Did you time yourself through one day of Morning Routine/Evening Routine to estimate time you need for each routine? Did you find that necessary? I home school and work outside the house, so time is ALWAYS at a premium.

I've been watching for 8 minutes and you still haven't staid what the morning or evening routine should be.
