    @@poyabigby Hey, the type of questions in the video were similar to the ACS final and on mine majority of the questions were mechanism reactions like question 20. Redo your exams and do a lot of practice. Good luck!

    Check which atom is attached to the central carbon. The bromine is not attached to the chiral center so the sulfur is going to take priority over the carbon attached to the bromine

    is #4 correct? why did you want to find the hybridization of the hydrogen instead of the 5th carbon in the chain? i think the answer is D

  • @ajike

    @ajike

    2 жыл бұрын

    The question specifically asked for the hybridization of H and not the Carbon.....which makes it S and not SP. If the question asked about C5 then the hybridization would have been SP

  • @juinelavarias1353

    @@ajike but Hydrogen does not undergo hybridization process. Normally, you just have to copy the hybridization of its central atom. In this case, I think that the hybridization of Hydrogen should be sp.

    2:00:28 hmmm I’m pretty confident that CrO3 is a strong oxidizing agent, meaning it would yield a *different* product than PCC (a mild oxidizing agent) would. CrO3 reacting with a primary alcohol would produce answer A with the Carboxylic acid, and PCC would give answer B with the aldehyde. Unless I’m mistaken, or not familiar with the nitrogen containing solution/catalyst, I believe A would be the correct answer.

    PCC is pyridinium chlorochromate. The reagent in the example is just PCC written out instead of abbreviated. CrO3 in H3O+ and acetone would be the reagents needed to turn a 1-degree alcohol into a carboxylic acid.
