A long season for us too. Our oldest is 22 and youngest is 1. 7 total. Society does often tell us it's a season that will be over soon. I've been in it for 20 years! So, yes instead of wishing it away and thinking it will be over soon, embrace it as life...a blessed life. ❤

I was a stay at home mom most of the time when my kids were little, and then God blessed me with a job at the elementary school as a assistant when my baby was in kindergarten. I went on to finish my teaching degree as I worked and started teaching at age 47, perfect timing as my baby was 17. The other two were in college. There is no such thing as an ordinary day-days home with kids are all extraordinary!!! I love your videos! I’m retired now and about to turn 69, and I’m reconnecting with doing things naturally and more healthy. Even now with only two of us, nothing is perfect. I had a much more rigid schedule when I had three little kids, but I don’t anymore!!! I cooked from scratch then and now, but it wasn’t perfect. Bless you!

I recently started following a few large families. One of the thing that impresses me about all,of them is how much the kids pitch in and how many life skills they have at an early age! These children are better equipped to live on their own than most of us were/are.❤

I keep watching large families, too, and with 3 living children of my own I still feel like I can't keep up or even catch up. And I'm amazed at all the well behaved and helpful children. But I think these latest videos from Lisa are helping me figure out how to get there... Just keep going and doing what needs to be done even while the kids are at my feet, whining, or whatever, rather than trying to find separate time to do things. Honestly it's in part because I don't want to do some of the things, so it's even harder to get motivated to do them while overstimulated from noisy children or overwhelmed by the messes they can make. And trying to get them to help is a whole other battle. But as she said, "done is better than perfect" and hopefully if the kids start seeing what it takes to keep a house and start reaping the rewards of a better kept house, they will start participating on their own and be more willing to do the less fun parts like cleaning up, too. I love that these families are sharing their lives with us in this way. So inspiring and genuinely helpful for someone like me who did not grow up with any kind of example of proper homemaking, but who really want to be a good homemaker for our families. 🥰

I follow large families also but there’s only a couple that are organized. Kids jumping all around. Babies crawling on the table where the older ones are trying to get thier school work done. Lisa really has a handle on her family it’s amazing! I love how especially her one daughter really enjoys helping her mom. She’s so calm.

Lisa bravo to you and your husband Luke for following your passion of home grown foods, healthy meals , homeschooling and parenting a large family. You obviously work hard every day and you are bringing up your children to be practical, intelligent, healthy and wise. Very few people are brave enough to demonstrate this lifestyle to their children in these crazy times. Hold your head high! Rock on!!!

Lisa, I just wanted to say thank you for offering us the insight into your way of thinking as it comes to life with growing children. I am a mom of five (7 and under) and I am so appreciating when women are commenting on what life looks as the children get older and how mindsets shift and what work within the home becomes. Obviously it's much easier now to be system focused within the home when managing littles but I'm grateful to see you explaining that there is a shift that happens and here's how we (us early along in our journeys) can gracefully handle that shift. I appreciate the preparatory insight.Grateful for media that makes it possible. You're like the older sister to us younger sisters, discipling us in what's ahead so thank you for that, we need it.

I really enjoy your videos. My niece asked me to join her in the fall for a sourdough bread baking class and since that class I discovered you. I just made your sourdough sandwich bread today and was so excited that it turned out the way it should and tastes delicious!! I don’t know how you manage your big household with such ease, but thank you for all your content and recipes! Happy New Year!

The one thing you need to go with your roast dinners is Yorkshire puddings. They are very simple to make and go well with the gravy, meat and veg. I recently discovered them and love them. They're so much easier to make than bread rolls and whatnot. I highly recommend them when you are short on time and don't have the energy for making loaves of bread. For myself, I can never make bread turn out right, but Yorkshire puddings are easy enough that I don't have to worry about if it will turn out or not.

I always love your videos! As I am waiting for my jars to wash in the dishwasher, I am watching this to be motivated in my homemaking today. I feel like I'm still recovering from the Christmas/birthday season here. But....today I will be canning a bunch of bone broth! Thank you for your encouraging content.💐

Homemaking may be harder with kids, but it's also more fulfilling and meaningful to me. My husband and I recently had one night where my boys spent the night at my parents' house and I felt so lost and out of place as the time went on. That may sound so silly, but I'm usually just keeping busy either taking care of them while they're awake or working around the house while they nap. It made me realize how thankful I am for having the mess and noise of having kids. I love being a homemaker and a mom. We are about to welcome our third any day now and I want to remember the blessing that the chaos can be ❤️

Thank you for having a “lazy winter break” week and sharing the ‘simple’ things. My babies are adults now, but I have 2 teachers in the house on vacation break enjoying catch up chores while resting body/mind before 2024. Children vitamins - very interesting since we never had them when I was raising my babies - just had to make sure meals were nutritionally balanced. I think this information will come in very handy for young families. 😊

I don't do a lot of comments, although I watch you as often as I can. I just want to say your life is anything but mundane. You do so much! It makes me feel like taking a nap!☺ I don't see how you do it all! It is always inspirational watching you. And those beautiful children are growing up so fast. I was watching Victor laughing and kicking, thinking he'll be walking before you know it! It was a joy watching him! Have a blessed, safe and prosperous New Year! Can't wait to see all you have plan!❤
