Order 66: COMPLETE SUPER CUT (Bad Batch, Fallen Order, Clone Wars, etc) *Updated*

There was a couple spots in the last upload that I thought could be better, so I tweaked it a lil bit, and added another minute of content that I think wraps up the video better :)

    It's been said that the 501st got the best of the war. We also got the worst. On Felucia, the seps. dug their metal heels into the muck of that alien hellhole and dared the republic to come in after them. So we did, only to be met with month after month of flesh eating diseases, shrieking nocturnal predators, and other sights that still haunt me to this day. Cut off and for all we knew abandoned by our superiors, our only hope was Aalya Secura, our Jedi commander. Without her iron will, none of us would have mess with our sanity, or our lives. When her death came, I hope it was quick. She earned that much. When the 501st was finally rotated out of Felucia, Aalya Secura made a point of seeing us off personally, calling us the bravest soldiers she had ever seen. It's a good thing we were wearing helmets, because none of us could look at her in the eye

    I personally hate the condition of the chips, I feel it substracs so much about order 66. Instead of being "good soldiers follow orders" dilema it's just "Now the chip takes over ggs" would be way cooler if it's full civil war on the ship with the few independent clones loyal to Ahsoka fighting against the other ones that are "just obeying orders"

  • @tickbox_

    @tickbox_

    Жыл бұрын

    @@JD-bk4zi I agree in principle, and if I had just heard about the chips without watching the show I would probably be saying the same. But the execution of that plot line in the show makes it work. For me the brilliance of The Clone Wars show is how it humanises the clones. Yes it would have been interesting if that was the direction they’d gone with it, but after 7 seasons seeing their relationships with the Jedi I would find it hard to believe many of them would go through with it. It means they would have been aware of the order the entire time, which completely changes that dynamic. Plus, there’s something brilliantly sinister about the idea that Palpatine had these chips in place from the start without them even knowing. We are shown that the clones, despite coming from the same source, are largely independent from each other in terms of personality. With one simple move Palpatine robs them of that. I agree that the direction you suggest would be interesting but the direction they chose works in a completely different way and, in my opinion, brilliantly.

    @@JD-bk4zi The new canon chip BS is nonsense anyways. The clones never were supposed to be "good guys". They were simply soldiers that always meant to backstab the Jedi at some point. Willingly and knowing what they were doing. The whole "duh, we are just puppets and are mind controlled" excuse is sucky. Always was.

  • @Kebab136

    @Kebab136

    Жыл бұрын

    @@DropkickNation excuse me how do you picture any of it without chips? If all the clones would know from the beginning they will eventually have to turn on the Jedi because their master told them so, at some point some clones would straight up go up for a talk with their Jedi commander and literally tell him everything, possibly even leading to the instant fall of Palpatine and end of the war. Just Imagine Rex knowing all the time and then casually saying to Ahsoka, Obi-Wan and Anakin at the same time "so, guys, i think i should tell you that Palpatine is in fact the Sith lord Darth Sidious and we clones were rigged by him from the beginning in a plot to kill you all. Just thought you might want to know cause i feel like we're friends", and at this point you can roll in the credits. The end, the star wars Trilogy consists only of Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and The Fall of the Sith. Anakin was the chosen one and brought Palpatine to justice by smashing him together with Windu till he dies, the clone wars end soon after that as Jedi council realizes they've been all played and everyone return to negotiations finally establishing peace. Dude it's Star Wars, a mind altering peace of space technology in a form of a brain implanted chip makes nothing else but sense in every possible way. Clones are somewhat independent, technology is surely there (we have freaking mind flyers in the empire?! AND CLONING HELLO?!), and Palpatine needs it for the success of his plan. But i must say it would be funny if the entire giant plot of the most powerful Sith Lord made to overthrow the republic and replace it with an empire with himself on the emperor's throne, and killing the entire Jedi order in with the culmination of the plot, got ruined by a random clone getting drunk and whining to Plo Koon about how he's supposed to kill him at some point.

    I hate the inhibitor chips so much, I think it ruined the gravitas of order 66. The messed up part about order 66 wasn't supposed to be just that the jedi died, it's that the soldiers that fought alongside them for so long, once the order was given could just turn right aeound on those people. Their was an actual betrayal and that's what made the clones who didn't listen even more interesting. All that got flushed down the toilet to now it's just, "Oh chip makes me bad now, ok"." All of those interesting stories and struggle and emotion, gone.

  • @josephdoria5237

    @josephdoria5237

    Жыл бұрын

    @@snusemcgoose1001 Unfortunately, the inhibitor chips are a necessary evil. When the prequels came out, the clones were basically proto-stormtroopers. Besides a single friendly exchange between Obi Wan and Cody, you never really get to see the human side of the clones. That makes the clones all secretly knowing about Order 66 more palatable, as the audience has no reason to suspect that any clones will feel remorse about killing the Jedi as soon as they are ordered too. Then everything changed when The Clone Wars show came out. For the first time, people got to see the human side of the troopers; see their struggles and sacrifices, their bond with their brothers and to their Jedi generals. Even though statistically Jedi were probably not all loved by their troops, seeing the likes of Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Plo-Koon, and tons of lesser jedi risk their lives to save the lives of the soldiers under their command, it was no longer believable that the clones could turn on them so ruthlessly. Clones are not droids, they are men. They have the same capacity for critical thinking as anyone else, and would certainly question why they were suddenly out-of-the-blue ordered to put down their trusted friends and comrades. Yes, it eliminates the possibility of some really compelling stories, but it fixes a much larger logical plot-hole in the canon.

    'Execute Order 66" That's a quote now so impactful it rivals "No, I am your father." And "It's over Anakin, I have the high ground." Purely because of the deep meaning and exploration behind the scene, now that we have so many different perspectives. Revenge of the sith with Obi-Wan, Anakin and Yoda. Jedi: Fallen Order with Cal, Kenobi with Reva, Rebels with Kanan and Ezra, Clone Wars with Ahsoka, Mando with Baby Yoda, and the whole Bad Batch with their experiences. They emphasize this with Ahsoka saying, "I couldn't ask for a better friend". We're left to assume the clones were close with each of their own Jedi generals, but its never even touched in a detailed way like this. Before I saw TCW, I used to get sad at the scene in RoTS where Cody hands Obi-Wan his 'saber just mere seconds before he gets the order to kill him but after seeing Rex with Ahsoka, that was even more sad

    Order 66 scenes never fail to get a tear from my eye. When I first saw ROTS as a kid in theaters, it was thematic and epic. But after watching TCW and seeing all of the lore build, these clones fight faithfully by their Jedi pals through thick and thin, and to see Sidious use mind control to turn clone against those same familiar jedi, the true feeling of hopelessness that the jedi must have felt sets in. The betrayal. The sadness asohka feels seeing that she has to let her clone companions die, or kill them, to survive. To see Kanan's pain as a kid and recognize it resurface in Rebels. every time order 66 is said and everything starts shifting, im a 30 year old dude but i tear up cause i loved the jedi and all the masters watching in the movies but also alot more interesting stories and how much more they were admired by alot and were well mentors to ashoka like kit fisto and Plo koon, i tear up cause its just one of the saddest scenes in all star wars. and seeing the bad batch scene was really sad to see, kit fisto, Plo koon, ki andi mundi, even thou he was a messed up mental jedi, stass allie, aayla secura, and of course Mace Windu. alot of other jedi im missing but its a sad and heartbreaking scene and after watching the clone wars and bad batch, it was more emotional.

Most of the Jedi who didn't sense it was in the middle of a battlefield, while those who were in calmer places found it easier to feel at least that something was happening (for example, Depa Bilaba also sensed something) 2. George Lucas wanted to create a modern mythology that echoes our own world and our own sufferings, to expiate it through fiction, hope and heroism. Order 66 is among the most villainous acts ever performed on screen. It's the greatest level of treason, it spans the entire galaxy, and it annihilates an order known throughout it by most of its inhabitants since thousands of years. Jedis have been the beacon of political values our real world hold dearly : peace, democracy, freedom. The Sith embody everything that corrupts us : greed, power, anger, despair. Order 66 echoes our very real tragedies as a species : the world wars, the genocides, the atomic bombs, the countless death in battles and massacres. If the scene hurts you, it's not because jedi dies, it's because the entire world dies through this scene. George intended his saga to be a metaphor for our suffering as well as our hopes and ideals. I think he achieved it very well. Star Wars is about how Evil is defeated by Goodness, how Democracy prevails over Tyranny, how individual deeds of heroism can bring back balance and force out tyrants.

Killed by a lightsaber, and there are only two Jedi in the building (to their knowledge), one of which is looking for the rouge. Then she is seen conspiring with a terrorist, then assaults the military police with said terrorist (this alone is worthy of conviction), and finally, is found in possession of the very weapon that was used to blow up the temple. Imagine if ashoka had shown up a minute earlier before mace sent Anakin to Palpatine. I'm not sure exactly what would have happened but there's no doubt she would have sensed something was very wrong with him and would have spoken to him in person after that meeting. Ashoka was the anchor on the other side Anakin needed to keep him grounded in reality while his relationship with padme was the main driving factor in him falling. Who knows exactly what would have happened but I'm willing to bet that she would have been perfectly willing to help hide his marriage after what she had been put through at the hands of the jedi AND that she could have kind of jumpstarted his brain and reminded him of what truly mattered. Padme gave him the speech about fighting for the wrong side and his faith in the republic was clearly faltering, Ashoka would have given him the other side of it. "Maybe this side were on isn't so good, I experienced that myself. But look at me, after everything they put me through I still came back because I know it's the right thing to do, to fight for the innocent and protect them. For all their flaws, thats what were supposed to do as jedi. Open your eyes Anakin, this IS how you save padme!" Really remind him of what a Jedi is supposed to be regardless of what is happening around him, remind him of all the people he saved and all the good he had done for people. The want to do good in him was gone after everything those supposedly close to him had done and she could have refocused him. At least enough so that padme wasn't the only thing he could think about. I'm not even sure obi wan would have saved him. Obi wan might have been able to do this too, but I think regardless his mind was too set on ending the war and he was too deep into the dogma to truly change Anakins mind. I truly believe only Ashoka could have 100 percent stopped his fall. For all padme would want to help she'd be useless, Ashoka knew exactly what Anakin was feeling

    I am becoming more and more convinced that the droid army was nothing more than planned training. The clones became superior combatants to the machines with the war and the Jedi were so busy facing them day and night that they got used to following the same fighting pattern... Let's say that the firing configuration of a B1 droid is designed so that over time, the Jedi will become accustomed to it and be effective in responding to its attacks... but when facing a clone, they are patterned consciously and absolutely different from their CIS counterparts. They lagged behind and by the time the clones struck, this coupled with the surprise factor, they were overwhelming. The Jedi were simply stunned to see their defense that had been so effective during the war now falling apart. Not to mention that the Clones had plenty of time to watch their generals, study and learn everything from them. I think the droids, especially the B1's attacking in massive numbers, were meant to prepare the Clones and stunt the Jedi knights.... for this very moment of Order 66. A masterful move if you ask me.

Should have told him then and there. Boy, that would have changed things. And Ahsoka should have told Yoda that Maul spilled the beans on Palps, rather than waiting to tell Anakin in person. At this point in time, they knew that that the clones were made by the enemy. They knew About the attempt/initiative Fives took to help bring down the rising emperor. They also knew about Ashoka’s past and when given the opportunity to return, she denied and continued to play the freelancer role.

    This shit always makes me emotional when I rewatch ROTS, but seeing it all happen in different movies, shows and games, knowing it’s all at the same time makes it even more tragic somehow.

    I never noticed that the troops behind Ahsoka stand taller when Ahsoka senses something wrong about Anakin

    So frustrating watching all the mistakes the Jedi made that allowed Order 66 to happen. Love the video! Keep the updates coming!

    A tear from laughter I hope. That padawan always cracks me up. Ruins the entire sequence.

    Order 66 has to be one of the most impactful moments in modern cinematography. The music, the camera work, the atmosphere, the sadness, all of it was already enough to make it into a classic seane but years of building on top of that with shows and games like the clone wars, the mandalorian, Kenoby, the bad batch, jedi fallen order, ,... have served to make this the best and most impactrful scene I have ever seen in any movie (in my personal experiance at least)

    I honestly am shocked some people are saying they’re tired of revisiting order 66 in different projects, I LOVE IT, it’s my favorite part of the prequels because it’s crazy how almost all the Jedi were wiped out in a single night, I wanna keep seeing who survived, how they did it, and the direct aftermath of that night, and people keep saying that the clones sucked at killing jedi since a bunch of Jedi survived but as fucked up as it is the empire is based of nazis and order 66 was the Jewish genocide, there were countless deaths yet so many survivors

    After the events of Order 66, many clones who partook in order 66 begun to question their service to the rise of the Galactic Empire, and also the people they had just killed in the bad batch, they questioned their loyalty because they had just massacred their generals and commanders who had fought besides them, bled besides them and killed besides them which made the uprisings in clones within the bad batch impactful.
