He respected them more than any other in the Imperial Army. It was also a bit of nostalgia and attachment. They were the only ones left from his life before the suit, after destroying his family and the Jedi Order he didn't have much left. Unlike others he didn't needlessly kill them for failures but he wasn't against killing them if necessary like he did Vills.

I still prefer the legends 501st. over Canon. They may have originally been loyal to Palpatine, but the fact that they were placed under Vader's sole command, and knew him very well meant that in all likelyhood, just as happened historically with armies being loyal to generals, and not countries, had Vader ordered them to move against the Empire, they probably would have followed his orders over loyalty to Palpatine

Legends is pretty much superior in every way to Disney era lore.
Anakin treated them like real living beings, like individuals even, but when they casually slaughtered jedi they considered friends, without question or the ability to refuse because that was simply what they were programmed to do, he got reminded of what they actually are, fake beings no better than the droids they were fighting, tools to be used and then thrown away.

I’m sure Anakin still had attachments to his army of the 501st. Which transferred to Vader, but Vader is not Anakin, personality wise, and thus his attitude to them was different.

@@JohnnyDominion I try to think of it like this Vader learned a lot from Anakin. His battle tactics, his time with the Clones, the Jedi Temple, even his wife Padme. Yet, it ends there because Vader is his own person just in the body of Anakin. Similar to Revan when his light and dark side split it’s the same for Anakin but remain in the same body. Maybe not every darksider or lightsider has a personality split in the force, but a select few have to confront themselves just like Yoda fighting his own darkside. The key moment when Vader and Anakin did become one before his death was in the throne room against the Emperor. The final critical moment as Vader was contemplating staying loyal to Palpatine or saving his son and thus chose the latter despite still harboring the darkside and only being Anakin when he got to see Luke with his own eyes.

@InfiniteNaos The reason I don't consider to separate personal (Even though the dark side has been proven to have severe psychological effects on people) is that it takes away a certain measure of accountability and running from guilt or regret. Though Darth Vader was cruel malevolent, violent and much more it was not a matter of simply falling victim to the dark side. Anakin chose to embrace the darker nature of himself. It was always present in him as good and bad exists in us all. During the clone wars or growing up we knew the darker tendencies he had. The pride and impatience in him but it was somewhat tempered. When he chose to become a darksider he allowed the other parts of his personality that he repressed to come out. Anakin Skywalker didn't die so Darth Vader could rise, no he let one part of his overall personality dominate the other and then he changed for the worst. Unlike people like Exar Kun, Ulic Qel-Droma or Kyp Durron in which the dark side was forces upon them to an extent, Anakin always had a choice and he chose selfishly.
Betrayal is a core tenet of the Sith, they will inevitably turn on each other. I don't believe Order 151 was taken off the the table. Palpatine breathes treachery and Vader knows it, his master betrayed Dooku, Maul, the Sepratists and Darth Plagueis. If Palpatine can do all that then there is no doubt he will betray Vader. This is proven correct as Palpatine tries to betray Vader not once but twice with new younger apprentices such as Starkiller and Luke Skywalker.
@Artur_0905
24 күн бұрын
Another example (though it is on canon) is in the Vader Comic series following the events of ANH when Palpatine is considering a bunch of replacements for Vader. Not apprentices… not yet anyway… but for the Empire. In his words if Vader would be defeated by one of these replacements, then said replacement would be better than him “You proved yourself worthy of that name back then. I’m sure you’ll do so again”

In Vader's defense trusting the clones post order 66 is a horrible idea because they still have programming. We saw this when the inquisitor clones turned on the inquisitors because of an order 66 technicality.

The literal entire video discusses the other canon where they specifically don't have that programming. Wouldn't "in his defense" just apply to a different idea then spoken here?
Vader couldn't trust his master as far as he could throw him. Ironic given how far he threw him in Return of the Jedi.
I like to imagine that he prefers to fight alongside Clones because he respects them due to serving together in the Clone Wars. He had an entire legion named "Vader's First" which were made up of 501st Clone troopers. Vader will never confess it, but there is a sliver of Anakin in him that does hold the clone in a favorable regard.
Vader also shared his masters viewpoint that the clones had served their purpose and now, like the Jedi, were obsolete . Order 151 could have been around since at least Doku since Palpatine really despised the Jedi. Even if they had fallen, they would still not achieve the full mastery of the Sith

Anakin Skywalker AKA Darth Vader have some of the finest Men in star wars
Seeing the Clones reminded him of who he used to be.
In legends, he was still very loyal to the fett clones, and respected them as men and soldiers. Infact was more at ease with fett clones than with nonclone troopers and imp officers. Some troopers were actually as much a friend to him as anyone could be. But not surprised its all retconn'd in disney canon

People yelling .. canon .. , reminds me of protestants. Main difference they are non-religious but the " with me or against me " sect mentality still remains. F-cking Us politics. Shallow people calling themselves True Fans. As for Legends, multiple growing timelines. The Fett clones came about from " Clone Wars," and the Thrawn trilogy had a line if the Fel clones get lose it will be the Clone Wars all over again under imperial control. Novel, video game, comic series, toy line, " Shadows of the Empire " had an Indepth view into Vader inner thoughts along with his spy network and what/how Vader's direct underlings view him. Looking at ESB, the bridge crew was nervous around Vader, as for the mercs/bounty hunters .. it was Tuesday. Then there was Vader's Bast castle on planet Vjun. That paints a very interesting picture on how the officers view Vader.

@@krispalermo8133 You on drugs or something? how the hell is someone mentioning the bad canon changes akin to politics or religion? You seem very delusional mate, go outside and touch grass.
The clones also aged much faster than normally so naturally it would cost way less to use natural humans for storm troopers
This was a good expose. I always wondered why the clones didn't attack Anakin, once order 66 was issued. How could they tell one Jedi apart, from a Sith? This makes sense. Now I wonder when 'order 66' was disabled. Was it set to remain active for 60 days, or did Palpatine give the command a few days later?
To be fair. Vader threw Palpatine really far away.
Well, he did like Commander Appo still, so I would say his problem wasn't with the clones as a whole.
All i know is anakin didn't have a chip inside his head that made him slaughter children, so kind of a case of throwing stones in glass houses here.
Like Anakin after the Clone Wars the Clones themselves were forever changed into something more monstrous than anything they could ever imagine, and for Vader that was thing to realize that they had no relation to one or the other.
Maybe Palpatine will use order 66 on Vader in case he betrayed The Emperor and find a new apprentice too!?
Clone trooper ink 😆
I prefer the version where vader would do all he could to save his troopers but hated the officers that made more sense to me.
What about the 501st, aka Vader's Fist?
It seems a weird thing, to worry about trust, when you are a Sirh Lord; it comes wirh the territory that you trust no one, and if that constant guarding doesn't deplete you, and thus get you killed, it adds to your power, like hate, fear, and pain. I sat this too often, but I still really don't like the cop out of the inhibitor chips. I guess that they do cover a few bases; it's easier to like Rex, and the other Clones, in Rebels, if you know that they were damaged heroes, instead of lying infiltrators, and it helps explain how no one ever knew, prior, but I still feel it was better when they were just evil, and biding their time; that yes, they were indoctrinated, but they had the choice, and they made it, which showed how terrible the Empire could be. My favorite Clone Troopers bit was the game where the one said something to the effect of "Never before had I been so grateful to have these helmets; we never could have lied to the Jedi so well without them." It loses so much weight when he might've just been a happy, patriotic soldier who then had an involuntary kill switch flipped in his head.
Do I have this wrong? The "orders" were programmed into the clones chip. From what I gathered from the animated series is the clones didn't know the orders until they heard them. It was more subliminal, than conscious. So it would be useless for vader to ask a clone about the orders because the clone wouldn't know it until received the order.
@samc9133

At the beginning the video says they are pulling from Legends, in which the chips didn't exist.
Very nice.
I remember having commented a video from the Clone Wars, the scene where Tup's cheep disfonctioned and he executed Order 66 prematurely. After his initial break, he had a second one and just before he was deluring "Good soldier follow orders... Kill the jedi!" his head bouncing left to right. If you rewatch the scene, you'll see that he sees Anakin during this moment, ignoring him as a "jedi". Which confirms that he was excluded from Order 66 and I remembered telling myself... Sidious took an horrible risk: there was no way the Anakin's exeption could have been implemented without the Kaminoens knowing.
Clones will forever be remembered for their services.
Vader/Anakin had a lot longer than 3 years of fighting with the Jedi and he betrayed them as well
'He didn't trust his master as far as he could throw him' Didn't he throw him several kilometres?
I like your videos to an extent. It's always why palpatine feared a muffin made by Yoda to obi wan being the best from how many Jedi back flips he could do. I'm glad you are doing well though good for you.

Considering how powerful pre-suit Vader was and how ruthless he is in battle, I don't think Order 151 would have worked all that well.
501st hournal and the dakr horse comics say otherwise. Vader respected the clobes
Was Yoda able to see the fall of the Jedi Order when he allowed himself to touch the dark side while trying to redeem Dooku in Dark Rendezvous
I could see conflicting thoughts on them. Between being reminders of the past and being effective in combat, though the lack of seeing a facial expression makes reading Darth Vader difficult.
I think it’s because the clones remind Vader of Anakin and he hates that.
Didn’t some of his personal stormtroopers come from the 501st? Maybe I’m thinking of legends, I always thought it was cool the 501st showed such loyalty to Anakin/Vader
I've been thinking did Jabba had a sibling since he has a nephew in the clone wars
wonder what would happen if Vader and Rex meet.
Darth Vader didn’t hate nor would he ever hate Clones.
Yea I get it man it’s like if your girl ever cheats on someone else to be with you, how can you really trust her if she did it to someone else…
Palpatine was always one step ahead.. maybe even 2 steps
My guess, without having watched: He hated the clones for being no better than him.
That's because Commander Vill couldn't get Lord Vader Red Velvet Oreo's and leaked that he would being fed through his behinds.
Vader could throw his master a good distance, so...lol
Fantastic!
Bling Bling Britchard
Vader killed so many out of anger and still gets to be a force ghost. Being a light side Jedi seems trivial.
I didn’t know Vader hated Clone Troopers. I thought he admired them even as Vader. Putting aside that Clone Troopers obeys Palpatine over Vader when given. I think its because Vader refuse to trust anyone around him: Palpatine, self-serving Imperial officers, and even Stormtroopers if ordered to attack Vader. Tarkin and Thrawn are somewhat ‘friends’ to Vader but they are more motivated by their personal agendas. If going back further, it’s possible he hardly trust anyone even when he was still Anakin and as a Jedi. Not even Obi-Wan Kenobi. Though Kenobi is one of few people closest to Anakin, he can’t share all his feelings and Kenobi is Jedi first. It kind of make sense why he think Padme betrays him on Mustafar. He didn’t trust the Jedi, Palpatine (obviously), and even the Clone Troopers who just killed his once fellow Jedi without a second thought. Also should note Vader’s distrust in people is why he even had an army or squad of BX droid commandos at one point.
"Vader couldn't trust Palpatine any further than he can throw him"? Lol. Who's gonna tell him???
This is shame. I understand he was a Sith but this is sad. His connection with 501 tarnished. I like Vader throwing Palpatine pun😁May the Force be with you too 😊
There's no reason why 151 would go away. Vader is dangerous and unpredictable to Palpatine. That's kind of the point. A recent video pointed out Vader chafing under Palpatine's Death Star team. If Vader had gone rogue and tried to split the Empire, absolutely Palpatine would have called 151.

It always irritates me to hear, normal stormtroopers are not as good as the clones. Well, duh! But you never hear about anyone continuing training to make them better. If Baron Fel could turn a bad squadron into the best, then Vader could possibly have it done with the 501st.
I mean, he ended up throwing his master pretty far....
Pretty sure Vader threw Palatine pretty far.
Is because they see him as poor loser. Big mistake to call him
I don't know..... Vader threw his master pretty far. Might not be most appropriate expression.
I mean, Darth Vader hates literally everybody that's not Padme or Luke. You could just make a "Why Darth Vader hates X" video every day and replace X with any character other than those two who was alive during the Empire.
And I was under the impression Vader had respect for the clones.
