"There's no cracking on the fretboard." Well, not yet. Watch that logo for peeling, and the ebony board splitting all over the place, frets sprouting and cracks all over the Solar logo. Hopefully you have better luck than I did with 2 different Solars I had (and quick ditched).

I'm considering getting the 7 string version of this, so this video was very helpful!

Mine came perfectly setup once I put my 10/52 gauge on it. Mine was solid too . No qc problems at all. Had it over a year now I think and no cracks either.

Peace, Ray! I love your vidjas! I own a solar a2.6 TBR gen1 so its a swamp ash body. I love it! So resonant and easy to play. Only negative thing is the slight fret sprout on the upper side of the fretboatd/binding(yes the first gen of A models had black binding), and the logo doing this ”peeling thing” which i dont mind. These were there when i bought this one second hand. So i knew and i am still so very happy with my solar. If these probs were on a brand new Guitar, especially a 1. Series and the fretboard crack, it would not be acceotable. Solar does refund, big props for that!

Thinking about getting the pink version on this! Been sleeping on solar for a while time to make a purchase

Have the same guitar but in Candy Red and with Blackouts on them. Active is definitely the way to go. I thought the solar pickups sounded too muddy in the lower tunings and that's where I live at.

Hey bro I picked that same exact model when window shopping the Solar website, I also really like the green one with one bridge pickup, I missed out on a deal on one of those, dang it. Actually I want any model except for the LP type one, I no like LP shape guitars or LPs.

I love my Solar. It's an older one I bought used. Some minor fret sprout and the logo is starting to separate from the head stock. I really don't care at all though, still one of my favorite guitars, including ones that I spent 4x as much on.

Agree with you 100%. My dream guitar is an orange SG Junior with white plastics instead of the black and a bunch of other weird specs.

Mine has 2 small hairline cracks on the tips if the ola symbol. For some reason it closes up when it's warm out, and is only noticeable in winter. Kinda sucks but it's not falling apart so oh well. I love it and would buy it again. I got a pink A2.6.

Hitting up all olas socials to try to get you some spotlight my guy. If you’re going fishman I vastly prefer the Keith merrow and tosin abasi sets to the moderns if you haven’t tried those. The Matt heafy sigs are just moderns with the voice 3 single coil in the previously mentioned sets as well

Any way you can describe why you like actives over passives? I have no preference but I had blackouts in my 8 string which now has juggernauts in it, and my 9 string has emg 909s and unsure if I want lundgren m9c or emg 909x or fishman 9s. I might of not realized how good the blackouts where. I was tone chasing with cheap budget gear(joyo zombie head and a 1x12 it's a v30. Boosted with a precision drive. I now have an frfr and a line 6 hd500x, WAAAAAYYYYY BETTER!) But hoping to put the blackouts in an ibanez iron label 8.

Looks great - however, it looks like they are still using these small pots. I've recently had to replace the pots because of massive dropouts - besides that really good guitars.

so when you ordered that guitar did you have to pay any import fee's on top of the price of the guitar and shipping? just curious because I have heard some people say they had to pay $70 or $80 import fee's when ordering a solar guitar? Just curious as I have been thinking about ordering one.

I play my Orange OR15 through an Orange 4x12…. And I use Tortex 0.60 picks. Also orange. Lol. It’s just a fun color! 😄

Orange makes an orange cable as well if you need more orange.

_A bright guitar a day keeps the sad away_ Also if you put some other PU's in this one, maybe go for white ones... Just an idea, but I always liked the look of flashy colors together with a really clean white and maybe you'll too. ^^

Sticker is a nice customization 🤣🤣🤣 Would you say it is a good guitar for Metalcore recording? I wanna have a Drop C guitar and maybe a 6 string Drop A or A# one as they are the more common tunings nowadas… Doubts came from reported string noise from the headstock, some instability in the tuning machines and personally…Solar pickups might be more shifted to lots of saturation knowing Ola is more a Death Metal player For me next choice might be sell some part of my body and buy ESP’s 🤧

It's not a Washburn.

Never trust a painted neck. Theres a 70% chance that it feels like absolute cancer to play.

I wish I could get a Solar guitar Ola England is awesome but I just can't afford one
