    Can I ask, when you setup the projector, could you zoom the size of the screen in and out to fit? Or was it fix and the only way you can change the size is by moving the projector forwards and backwards?

    I just got mine in today. It has an automatic screen selection option, or you can manually select the screen size. It’s actually quite nice

    What's the picture quality like through HDMI? (Bluray.. DVD, etc.)

  • @GNCandrew

    @GNCandrew

    The picture quality is good but don't forget that this isn't a particularly bright projector (800 lumens) and it's only 1080i (not 1080p). I guess it would be fine for casual viewing but I wouldn't put it at the heart of an AV setup.

    Is there any rainbow effect since it’s a dlp projector?🇸🇪

    Glenn, I haven't had that projector for a couple of years now but while I had it, I didn't notice any significant rainbow effect. I usually use a matte screen which tends to minimise rainbow effects (so I'm told). Sorry I can't be more help.

  • @GNCandrew

    If you have a big bright classroom, I think it would struggle. It's not a super powerful projector and if you have the projection quite big, I think the ambient light will be too much.

    Dennis, it depends on your expectations. My opinion is that it's better than I expected for a small 800-odd lumens projector. There are better projectors out there, but they're more expensive, bigger and brighter.

    If you watch the review, there's a bit where I get a pop up display in the middle of screen. I think there is a menu item called Image. It's probably in there. Otherwise, I'd suggest referring to the manual, which is available online at Optoma if you don't have a paper copy. I don't have the projector as it had to be returned to Optoma after review.

    A projector that most people would like for an outdoor movie night and not one bit of video playback shown or mentioned. Kinda explains your low subscriber tally.

  • @AndrewPalmerX

    Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep it in mind next time I'm reviewing a projector. Outdoor movie nights aren't really popular where I live - the weather isn't good enough and neighbours would complain about the noise. In terms of this projector, I don't think it's powerful enough for a really good movie experience.

    ML750ST is a horrible buy. It broke down after 3 years (using it once per fortnight) due to a manufacturing defect that was assessed by a projector repair company - $900 repair bill I have been writing to Optoma USA and Optoma Australasia via email and facebook for weeks - no replies at all! I will never buy Optoma again - better to buy regular bulb projectors with a longer warranty and place to return it easily if it fails.

  • @GNCandrew

    @GNCandrew

    3 жыл бұрын

    That sucks. The UK warranty is 2 years but it's always frustrating when it breaks down before you think it should. I don't know how much the ML750ST costs in Australia, but if you converted your AU$900 to GB£ you'd nearly have enough to buy a new one over here. What are your consumer protection laws like in Australia? You might be able to claim "not fit for purpose" if it's a manufacturing defect.

    @@GNCandrew correct, the price of a new one is $1000. I've since bought a big, heavy Epson because more proven and traditional technology means it should last WAY longer than the 500 hours I got out of my Optoma.
