Oprah interviews "Weird Al" Yankovic (1984)

Комедия

I really DID do an early interview with Oprah Winfrey, but it had a slightly different vibe than what's depicted in my biopic WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.

Is he more entertaining than Alice Cooper? Because that was the $#!+... Yes I think Al is too. Talked to him on the phone once when he was at a local radio station, WHCN Hartford, I think in 1993. One of the morning guys ( a despicable man, I know because I interned there from time to time) asked me what I would do if I was alone in a room with Al. I said something shocking (something I really wouldn't have done as Al is married, I was engaged, and I'm not a slut). The studio exploded, I got hung up on, no one could talk or breathe because of shock/laughter. I was told to call back, and I did. Had a nice conversation with Al. The station ran it's daily promo using the clip, several times, until they were told to stop by management...

This interview started off so awkward. You can tell she wasn't the expert she is now. She didn't seem to know what to say to him. I probably would be stumbling over my words if I got to meet him myself. I'd probably say hi followed by a bunch of gibberish, trip on my own foot, fall and fart at the same time and run away yelling I love youuuu!
