Operation Iraqi Freedom

“When I give you the word, together we will cross the Line of Departure, close with those forces that choose to fight, and destroy them. Our fight is not with the Iraqi people, nor is it with members of the Iraqi army who choose to surrender. While we will move swiftly and aggressively against those who resist, we will treat all others with decency, demonstrating chivalry and soldierly compassion for people who have endured a lifetime under Saddam's oppression.” - Maj. Gen. James Mattis.
Days after then-Maj. Gen. Mattis penned his famous letter to the #Marines of 1st Marine Division, Operation Iraqi Freedom commenced. Following an extensive air campaign aimed at destroying strategic targets, Marines breached the border defenses of Iraq in the pre-dawn darkness of March 20, 2003, and crossed the Line of Departure.
20,000 Marines and Sailors organized into three regimental combat teams led the assault. Organized to be light and self-sufficient, these units conducted the longest sequence of coordinated overland attacks in the history of the Corps.
The Marines of the 1st Marine Division traveled 250 road miles in 28 days from Kuwait to Baghdad, capturing Iraq’s major cities along the way and toppling Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship.
Throughout the march to Baghdad, Marines showed the opposing forces and the world they were "No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy."
#OTD we remember the thousands of Marines who served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and thank you for your service, sacrifice and dedication.
“It is not a story of each of them, but the story of all of them. Semper Fidelis.” - Maj. Gen. Mattis.

@@dannystranahan1004 The Marines were the bad guys who were invading a sovereign country and enforcing the will of greedy and corrupt American politicians and elites. Orders or not, they voluntarily chose to follow orders and are equally responsible for the atrocities and suffering that the Iraqi people had to go through due to the US invasion. United States of "Might is Right" America perhaps one of the few cases of true evil in the world if its treated as a single entity.

Flying combat helicopter missions in OIF in support of my brothers and sisters on the ground was the honor and privilege of my life. Shortly before we left Iraq our squadron commander spoke to the pilots and aircrew who flew missions in some of the most dangerous conditions imaginable. I remember he said that we were part of a brotherhood and elite fraternity of flying Marines. It’s true and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Our squadron and air group suffered losses that deployment. I think about it everyday and still miss my guys. Semper Fi! Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 465 “Warhorse” OIF 2006-07

2:58 completely agree, 18 year olds will act like adults and don’t like to be seen as kids, but any 30 or 40 year old man looking at them finds it very hard NOT to see a child especially when you think back on when you were 18 you know for a fact that you weren’t mentally mature enough to handle the world by yourself yet, to some degree you can but as a 30 or 40 year old your way more in control of life both physically and emotionally and I’m not talking financially either because that would be an unfair comparison between the two age groups

President Clinton ordered the bombing of Iraq and he said he was blowing up factories that were building weapons of mass destruction.. But he said we would have to someday we would have to send it ground troops to take the weapons that we're already developed over there.. President Bush had 2 choices. He could believe Suddam Hussein or he could believe the former President of the United States Bill Clinton, and President Bush chose to believe Bill Clinton

Oh the Latin woman statement is the USA stole a Latin woman’s military project. The project has a metaphysical portion like George Washington but I asked the mayans to help me put the military tactic together and lead me to the role in the plan which is commander. As long as the USA takes the military plan and continues to implement it while using mental health as a distraction (and they’re promoting mental health to fix the war) there shouldn’t be a problem. It’ll take me two years to bring ground warfare while me as a teacher giving the bait towards this country’s destruction that they choose to bring. So understand I’m going to sit back and watch it unfold as long as they take command of my project, who walks themselves into the meat grinder. Do you understand the behaviour and then you send your men to walk themselves into the meat grinder from what I’m bringing to surface.

im sure you may feel this way but its the new standard and to be honest no one in the marine corps likes it either but now that theres no war the Marine Corps is just catching up with todays standard and still hard as ever the bootcamps the same maybe not the behavior of the DI's but its still mentally and physically hard

Sociopath/psychopaths can do anything they want because they know society is stupid. "In your face" is one of their mottos. Stupors are like fuel for the sociopath/psychopath. If society understood the sociopath/psychopath the Federalist Party for one might still exist.
