Operating an r/c converted Revell 1/72 GATO class submarine kit
Ғылым және технология
Taking the excellent 1/72 static display GATO plastic model kit and converting it to r/c operation. This video is a quick overview of the end result: a practical, well running r/c model submarine, complete with retracting bow planes, no less!

Very nice! I'm having fun with my RC toy submarines, but I definitely have to try and scratch build myself a real model sub. It's on my ever growing "to do" list!
Thanks, Scott. I don't have any video of the 17' miniature restoration as that work was done in the early 80's. I have some film, but it's all stills. I'll have to cobble it all together some day for a proper KZread essay. I think Culttvman has some of that work at that site.
David's work is world class. Any links to the big Seaview restoration?
Good sir. Could you tell me what is inside the copper cylinder? What acts as a snorkel safety valve?
hello my friend thats a nice sub. I have been trying to get intouch with RCSUBGUY and he seems to be very snobby on responding to anything. so do you have any other ppl that build subs?

Bob's the go-to guy in this field. Keep at it, he's been very busy of late. Not snobby at all!
so this kit was originally made for static display and can be converted to a working boat with available hardware kits that can be purchased?

That fittings kit, the one I used, is no longer available.
the audio is terrible, lots of static
