Anime Discussion and exploration is back on the channel. Once a month. Here is a re-upload from my first video featuring The glorious Attack on Titan/Sawano soundscape. Looking forward to more. Expect once ish a month give or take. This will always be a video game music channel FIRST and MOST importantly, but, I think this will be fun. :)

P.S. i know some might say i need new friends and that is true but also i just need friends cuz apparently i dont have any i just dont get it how can one be so ignorant to this masterpiece i get teary eyed every time i just listen to any of AOT osts just pure emotion and nostalgia and i get all the flashbacks of entire series and the end of the show wasnt what i wanted but it was perfect since it was the only outcome and most importantly a realistic one in that scenario/situation . its just sad how many people just dont get it as they are used to more stupid anime's storywise where you dont need any thinking like Dragon Ball , Naruto, One Piece etc dont get me wrong i watched them maybe except Dragon Ball tried but all i see is a 20 minute "power up - scream" loved the rest tho but none of them come close to AOT

I'm not asking you to start reacting to anime or turn into an anime channel, but if you're ever gonna watch an anime YOU NEED to watch Attack on Titan! It's very different from your typical anime in terms of writing and presentation. Even people who aren't into or familiar with anime have been blown away by it. The first season still has a bit of that generic anime feel at times, but it quickly comes into its own as an incredible work of fiction. It's a certified modern classic!

I think it's cus the author had a really really clear idea of the message and emotions he wanted to evoke, the kind of moral dilemma that is so, so relevant to history and current events. You can tell he crafted the story around that concept (whereas a lot of shounen anime were crafted around the stereotypical main character battling harder and harder enemies and leveling up). Man. The entire story and journey is just incredible. Not unique of course, but you can tell he really really tried and it pays off.

I can first hand agree, I've never watched an anime before, don't like a lot of the anime stereotypes and cliché's and never intended on watching any anime in general ( no hate, just no interest) and after seeing a couple spoilers I ended up interested and gave it a watch along with one of my favorite reactors. and I've now seen it basically 3 times through, in both Sub and Dub and have loved it all the way through. I'd even compare the quality of the story and ending to that of breaking bad. One of my favorite shows. and widely known as one of the best shows ever written.

In case you're interested, the Attack ON titan song has three different tracks showing how the song evolves through the show. I highly recommend listening to them back to back so you can hear the differences and understand the story they tell together. The part in this video is the first one then is Attack ON titan WMId and the final is Attack ON titan TFSv. I hope you'll enjoy the amazing journey those songs will take you on.

I love it when your face changes experiencing the Sawano drop it truly is a memorable experience when you hear it the first time. Bios was the first time I heard mine so trust my when I say Sawano really knows how to make a memorable track. Other anime composers I really suggest you looking at is Yuki Kajura particularly the arrangement Thanatos for Kara no Kyoukai which is the most beautiful track in anime period, and also the work on Demon Slayer is stellar. Shiro Sagisu who is famous for his composition of Evangellion, Bleach and my personal favourite arrangement is all the work he did on Magi is absolutely phenomenal.

Honestly while a lot of us anime fans will have our favourites. I don't think any of us can doubt the quality for the Made in Abyss soundtrack. Kevin penkin is an absolute madlad. Some of the best known ones are Hanazeve caradhina, Rumble of Scientific triumph, Old Stories, VOH and I could keep going but in all honesty the whole two seasons and film all have outstanding soundtracks, fits the anime so dam well.

AoT is insane because you've got unskippable openings like Guren no Yumiya and Shinzo wo Sasageyo, you've got haunting tracks like Vogel im Kafig and Call of Silence, and then you've somehow also got bops like Barricades and Splinter Wolf. Synth, Rock, Pop, Opera, Rap hell even Metal. One of those animes that will remain a staple for eternity. And I haven't even mentioned the writing. Each episode is only 20 minutes. Give the first one a watch, I promise you won't regret it. As someone who only started watching anime 3-4 months ago, AoT was the second anime I ever watched and it's definitely played its part into getting me hooked with a ton of other shows. There's a whole damn universe of shows with insanely well done music out there.

I should specify, during a rule breaker stream, numerous requests were made for "Guts' theme". It unfortunately didn't resonate in any way with Marco. Unfortunately he had to admit that despite saying he leans into music not always needing context...it really does at times. An additional example can be viewed during the try not to cry video, where he hears Omori's Final Duet. Which is moving and emotional, however without full context it's simply a somber waltz quality.

Without a doubt this story is a masterpiece (even with its imperfections), but the music added in the anime hits different and make everything even better. I mean, there're probably lots of comments saying how they get chills or become emotional messes when they listen to any of these tracks because of the moments they evoke, no matter the time that has happened already. Great video! Thanks for sharing and I hope some day you can give the full story a chance (spoilers are absolutely plot ruiners so be aware jic)

I'm so happy to see you covering anime occasionally I agree that the channel should be mainly focused on videogame music but there is some incredible modern opera type pieces in anime and I look forward to you covering some of them

MARCO! I highly recommend listening to the orchestral suite with the live singing, as an opera singer I can promise that you will have a lot to talk about and the video/music is truly impressive.

"our backs are to the wall and all we can do is lash out vocally" you literally just described attack on titan, and even almost quoted one of the lines from one of the most intense scenes of the first season. lol VERY good assessment of the music in just the intro of the fist stong!

You going back to the best part of that song is something I would’ve done. Felt that in my soul. That part of the song is so powerful, it brings tears to my eyes.

i think even without the context of the story you caught the musical context quite well.

The use of these awesome soundtracks in the anime is really cool. Wit knew they had awesome musics to work with and the animation sublimes the musics as the musics sublime the animations.
