    I see a lot of people don’t know the difference between Opentx - module firmware and receiver firmware so a video explaining the different versions and how they relate might be very useful to a lot of people

    Love your videos. The best of the best. But I have a question: What would be the order or sequence of vids to properly get started?

  • @RCVideoReviews

    @RCVideoReviews

    3 жыл бұрын

    Start with the beginner playlist and watch them in order: kzread.info/head/PLy3TC1ILJYTjqDXFB84oXVWZG14zyMYYt After that you can watch the Intermediate/Advanced playlist. There is no particular order for videos in that list. You can also watch the OpenTx Snippets playlist in any order. They are all mostly standalone.

    Worth watching even if you think you know OpenTX already. Good information. Question... Why does the model setup wizard not have multi rotor support or did it go away when I deselected helis in the radio setup?

  • @RCVideoReviews

    @RCVideoReviews

    3 жыл бұрын

    I'm not sure why they removed the multi-rotor wizard other than they probably considered it redundant as a simple fixed wing setup will do the same thing. Only guessing here.

    With the fbl units today the heli page actually isn’t needed. I still have it on my radio but all the programming is done with the fbl software so my page is blank. In the radio it would be used for the older flybar helis with a gyro for mixing

    Hi there sir this is Alan in the UK I have a question regarding an old newbie (me 73 next) my main interest is flying slope soarers power gliders and Stol type planes and I'm not massively interested in aerobatics, I have a RMaster t16s at the moment using skyking type umx gliders and some of them are basically 3 channel rx and stabilised with the rudder on the right stick. I much prefer to use this configuration and would like to use the same system on my 4 channel planes gliders etc. My main concern is should I configure larger gliders to right hand rudder and left hand aileron on the transmitter settings ie inputs mixes etc or change or the servo output cables from the receiver which will be either lemon 7 channel stabilised rx or spectrum Ar636a As3x type. And having put the left hand stick for throttle and aileron with aileron travel turned right down and or a very high expo mix thus limiting the aileron movement. Hope you can make sense of my request Any help you could offer would be most gratefully accepted. I hope I have made what I'm asking fairly understandable. and with that may I wish you good health and please keep safe in these troubled times. Best regards from Alan in the UK ☺☺👍👍👍❤

    Anytime you can make a logical change in the radio that--to me anyway--would be the much preferred option. I can swap sticks/channels in mere moments inside the mixer. You also should check in with Jorge and Jim S both on the channel--they are glider pilots and have both done some neat things with their OpenTx configurations. Hope that helps, J

    Hi there John it’s tony here from Australia nice job on all your videos mate,iam thinking of purchasing the radio master 16s ,iam wondering is this radio suited to just quads or does it suit electric planes aswell and how I would go coming from Futaba to something more affordable.

    It absolutely works for quads and planes. I use it for both. LOTS of quad pilots use it and I've only ever used OpenTx for my planes.

    That's the beauty of this TX. The list is too long for me to type, but here's a link of the Rx's it supports:github.com/pascallanger/DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module/blob/master/Protocols_Details.md Basically all FrSky ACCST D8/16/L9, DSM/X, FlySky, a handful of Futaba-but not all, and TONS of toy drone Rx's.

    Why would one chose an OpenTX radio instead of a standard radio? What are the benefits of an OpenTX based radio?

  • @RCVideoReviews

    @RCVideoReviews

    3 жыл бұрын

    Why would one settle for a standard radio when one could have an OpenTx radio? OpenTx: Free software, Companion Desktop, Unlimited Models, Multiprotocol Module Support, Constant Development Cycle, Massive Online Support Tools, Price, Large Color Screens, Hall Effect Sensors, Not Proprietary, Global Variables, Global Functions, Logical Switches, Special Functions, 3 Timers, Multiple Flight Modes, SD Card, LUA Support, Control over Firmware Options, Easy Model Backup, Compile own MPM, Global Identifiers for External Modules, External Modules, MPM Binds with all Mainstream RXs, Telemetry, Audio Prompts....that's off the top of my head.

    TX16S is my first radio. The number of button doesn't intimidates me, it's the placement. Just not intuitive (to me). I wish OpenTX offer remapping of button functions, and also change of RGB LED colour... without recompiling the firmware.
