Openpilot now looks identical to chffrplus in terms of the UI! Just know that if you performed the steps, you do in fact have openpilot installed. If you're unsure which software you have, check settings and scroll down to version.

VirtuallyChris hi. What is the advantage of a grey panda over the white panda for a Honda?

Looks like this video is a little outdated now. The "new" eon gold is rotated 180 degrees so installing it as seen here doesn't work. There's also the GPS module to install and the pins on the giraffe should be set before plugging in the eon or the eon should be rebooted after changing them.

Hi Chris I'm new here, nice video..I have a couple of questions if you don't mind, first off, I'm not really computer savvy, but I'm pretty sure I can do what you just showed in the video. I own a 2016 Honda Civic touring sedan with the honda sensing..Is there a way of mounting the Eon that it's removable, and re-attachable, for when I take my car in to the dealer for oil changes etc. I wouldn't want them to see what I'm doing and chance voiding my 6 year warranty..Thanks Chris..

Is there a way to rotate the screen 180 degrees? With my setup the camera is currently on the left back, I can change the mount to the opposite side so the camera lines up with the car camera, but can't seem to move the image 180.

Hey Chris, sorry I have another question..what's the sim card for? is that needed to make that system work?

Im a little bit confused the lane assist camera normally uses only one canbus. Is this enough for the open pilot to work? (Brake, steer, accelerate) Thinking of sticking this on a VW but need to build my own giraffe.

Can you mount it below the rearview mirror? I don't want to lose the functionality of the mirror.

Hi VirtuallyChris, thanks for sharing your experiences, is it possible to upgrade from the NEO to EON hardware without buying a new OnePlus phone? Also does the openpilot software work without the neomc interface board being to the phone using panda and giraffe instead?

If I was to install chffrplus on a NEO device, during start up by entering chffrplus.comma.ai . It would act as a DashCam? But I guess without ability to control the car anytime soon as it would be read only?

Unfortunately you have to buy the EON as a single product, you can't buy just the case and cooling solution! But NEO should still work for a while, definitely do consider upgrading though :)

whats the difference between the EON and oneplus 3? Is this method better then the one you did in the 3 episodes

EON is the next gen hardware. Building your own isn't supported anymore, so go ahead and check out my openpilot installation guide to see the parts you need :)

Chris, there was some confusion on if a SIM is needed or just a WiFi connection every now and then (close to daily) is good enough. Can you elaborate on what the SIM is used for or if it is needed?

can you do a video on how to update openpilot software from an existing version to latest software ?

Theo Fennel right now openpilot only works on select Honda’s, Acura’s, and Toyota’s

mdkk nope . Just need to turn the eon on on wifi. After you drive for a bit, put it back on wifi to upload you drives to clear space

Hoping my fiancee can get me a Panda so I can start work on my 2016 Toyota Corolla. If it won't work I'll be trading it in for a Civic or a Prius

Yep, you need all 3. The panda is the circuit board that communicates with the car where as the giraffe is basically a fancy adapter

This works with 2016 Honda Civic with Honda Sensing ?

@@christianhunters9281 make sure you have a supported car, then yes you need both. Panda is what sends and receives messages from the car while the giraffe is an adapter for the car's connector.
