When people invented fire, it is speculated that they would set entire acres of forests on fire in the shape of a ring to entrap a huge amount of animals, and pick up their remains afterwards. In this scene, the concept of killing fields is introduced, where they would chase down and guide a herd in a specific direction right towards a dead-end pathway or a field laid out with spiked pitfalls. This ingenuity to coordinate these complex methods with a large number of people, because of sapiens’ imaginative mind and ability to communicate and cooperate efficiently, is the main reason why we’ve thrived as a species.

If he strikes stealthily, he'll only be able to attack one and the rest will immediately run for their lives, so either way they're gonna run. What the apes are doing here is that they make them run in the direction of koba and the other apes who are waiting in ambush, and those who get startled and confused for a second will be cornered by the apes coming at them from the back with caesar.

I love this movie. One thing I wish they did tho is for the apes to be fashioning and wearing pieces of clothing with animal hide and fiber. Considering apes are native to the tropics and need warmth like humans in cooler climates like the redwoods it would have made more sense. I just think it would have been so badass to see the apes wearing primitive clothing like humans did when we were hunter gatherers as well.
