Thanks. I locked my keys in my building and found your video. Worked perfectly and I did no damage to the door or lock.

my brother is a Master Electrician; he showed us this trick using a credit card too. He said there's many times the home owners not home but they give him permission to enter their house to do work and this is how he gets in. I never tried it before, so I was curious how difficult it is and how long it would take me. it only took one attempt and about 20 seconds to get in using a credit card.

This only works if the screws on your handle is loose. An/or have a beat up frame.

We locked ourselves out of the house one time and had to call a locksmith to get the door unlocked so this would be very useful because I have a place to keep a flat head screwdriver outside on my porch that is hidden because we have a dorm size refrigerator in our porch that we don't use so we store miscellaneous stuff in it so I can put a flat head screwdriver in there just in case we would lock ourselves out again

How did it go? I just locked myself out too and I’ve been trying for about an hour now.

That door lock latch was not properly inset into to the hole on the jamb as no way one should be able to get a screw driver into that anyway. Dead bolt woulda also been locked in most cases.

My brother locked himself out of his houses and now I’m trying to help him get back in.😂

hopefully it will work on my door too.. its already second time i lock myself out spending couple of hundreds dollars to open the door by locksmith...😭

My ex picked his way through 4 of my locks but thankfully the latch on the top of the door kept him from coming in & doing what he had promised to do. I had to show the cops simular videos like this one bc they did not believe me!

Wtf. I just had my door after unlocking it, get 'jammed' by something. Turned out a screw on the portion of the lock securing the lock was loosening, and jammed the door. Thank goodness it was daytime, with maintenance in the building. Going to ask how to secure the door even more now. We've got he fire rated doors where I was wondering with hinges on the inside of the apartment how'd they'd gotten the door opened had not whatever the maintenance guy did worked.

He said in the video, most people leave without locking the deadbolt thinking that just locking the bottom lock it would still be secure. He’s bringing awareness to those that aren’t locking their deadbolt.
