Superb! Thank you very much. I made the tool out of a piece of 2mm thick, ruler length piece of mild steel. Bent it slightly here and there until it slid under. Vaseline instead of grease. Worked a treat. Improvisation as opposed to B&Q is key.

What a great little video 🙂 I've been trying to open a toilet window for over three months without doing any damage so I am happy to say I followed your instructions to the letter and a couple of minutes later opened boom ,,,,, I made my tool out of a plasterers small tool cut it to size and shaped it in my vice.... Couldn't buy a mini pry bar so I made one from a metal ruler, worked a treat. Thanks for the hint

Also couldn't find a mini pry bar so I made one out of a 'herringbone' strut from Wickes, cost less than £1 and worked perfectly.

In my job I some times come across windows which have the handles spinning round in the espag lock, the square peg in the handle has turned the soft metal in the lock to round.. would love to see a video on opening one off these window's, or any advice from other utubers would be great..

What if you don't have the lugs at the lower edge? Mine just has bolts that move into a recessat the sides.

Use a bent up an bbq skewer, check the length to bend on a similar window... it worked a treat

I have two shoot bolt in a fan light window one of them will not retract when opening the window preventing it from opening, I can't use the method shown I your video,any ideas ? Thank you

Remove the bead and then remove the glass. The frame then will be able to deform as its not rigid just enough for you to disengage the shoot bolt and open it. Replace the shootbolt mech and reinstall the glass and bead.
