i actually met isiah Thomas when he came to london he was doing autographs when i was waiting in line he saw me wearing a steph curry jersey , i zipped my jacket he didnt say nothing he just smiled and took a group picture before sitting at the table. when i went to get my autograph he said don't hide the jersey now lol i talked to him for a bit about reggie miller , jordan and then asked him who he had winning the superbowl since we both had the warriors winning the chip. he picked dallas i picked the pats and the pats won that year. Very funny and genuine the way he is in this video was the way he was when i met him.

I'm a Bulls fan who grew up watching them during the Jordan era. And I have to agree with Isaiah here. He was an objectively greater player than Scottie. He belonged on that team more than Scottie. What he and Scottie are both failing to realize is that MJ is the ONLY reason they went with Scottie and not Isaiah. MJ wanted Scottie and not Isaiah, and that's what happened. Scottie can SAY whatever he wants, but they wouldn't have left Isaiah off the roster just because Scottie said so. It was Jordan controlling that decision.

Isiah was an asshole and multiple people didn't want him on the team. Personally I feel play on the court is all that should matter but when you have to spend months with the team in another country then yes the off the court stuff comes into play. Idky Pippen gets so much criticism here. He was a top 50 player all-time, won 6 titles, and was one of the best defenders ever. Isiah is as usual salty because of being left off the dream team. Jordan and Magic both said they didn't want him on the team so he wasn't going to be on the team. What Pip said is irrelevant.

Scottie Pippen was riding Jordan’s coattail. I’m not saying he is a total bum, but let’s get real. What did Scottie do when he wasn’t playing with Jordan? When Jordan retired the first time they were an average team. Scottie was trash in Houston. Scottie was like a 5th option around all that talent in Portland, while a 39-40 year old Jordan was still getting buckets. All of Pippens success is due to Jordan. Isiah got his success on his own.

The Pistons cost MJ three runs to the finals in a ROW, and the first time he goes up 3-0 in 1991, he talked some unnecessary trash about Isaiah and the Pistons. Also Scottie was kinda busy doing other stuff which is kind of important (8 x times NBA All-Defensive First Team) vs Grant Hill who had none. At least Grant himself was humble enough to acknowledged it, what defines you is your performance on the playoffs.

What you are comparing is their career stats. They are talking specifically about the 90s where Grant Hill did average more points, rebounds, and assists than Scottie Pippen. He would most probably have surpassed Pippen in his career stats aswell but Grant Hill was never the same after his injury.

  • @AxeSmashDemolition

@@user-qn4pp7fd3v Grant Hill only slightly averaged better numbers than Pippen because he played in a free-flowing offense that catered to his style and didn't really have to share the ball. Pippen played in a disciplined, methodical offense that stressed player/ball movement and he ran that system to perfection. Once Rodman came to the team Pippen didn't hit the boards as much as he did in prior years. Even in Pippen's later years he was still playing Hill to a stand-still or outplaying him period.

The biggest compliment to 90’s stars of the nba is that the 80’s stars are so stirred up by their arrival and emergence as the 80’s transitioned into the 90’s. Bird acknowledges the arrival of Jordan, Ewing, Barkley, Malone as a time when the NBA truly arrived and Isiah had a rivalry with almost all of them and hates his exclusion from many of their debates. He has great respect for Stockton and Jordan though he had rivalries with them as well, but for every one of them he has a bitter edge toward Pippen and Malone or disses the Knicks for being tough but not smart enough to beat Chicago, he can’t grasp how Orlando failed to overtake Chicago and how Detroit is forgotten in the 90’s discussion of things as they bridged the gap between Magic and Bird to Michael. And Magic of course loves MJ and loves the 90’s.
