I am glad you guys are pumped!... im currently sitting in it,... after several days out from back pain,..... (maybe related..).... I have been tweaking the video recording system,.. its getting complex ,.. and this video was the first of the new algorithm. I am trying to make these high quality and evolve each time I do it. I want to be able to watch them to,.. lighting .. better cameras...I was thinking of making a facebook group dedicated to this project,.. for collaboration effort,.. would you guys be down,.. or have any other ideas to help with collaboration of this Open project? Peace!

@@Christopherknauf I use discord for the other OSHW groups i work with, i'd be down to help you set one up (also could then hype it up on the "VR" discord's sub-section for sim racing)

I've used discord very little, just chat with some friends before going into game sessions... You think this would fit in there? There are about 10 active projects give or take that I know about at least...by the ones that contact me...

Always love your videos! Couple of questions: have you ever tested this with VR? Would be interesting to feel that level of immersion. Second, it looks like there is about a half a second delay between what happens on screen and when the rig reacts. Does it feel noticeable at all? Can you adjust that delay at all? As always, love the vids and your work. Seriously, your open source project makes me so excited to build my own one day (soon, I hope!)!

There is no perceivable delay in motion-game in real life,... there is however a 250ms delay in the video feed from the camera compared to the recorded game feed... sometimes I remember to sync them,.. other times,.... i forget... as for VR, very topical to this weekend, I am testing HP reverb G2 now, and almost am ready to make a video, I just need to get the motion canceling working reliably .. in that I use a controller mounted to the frame ,... and 3rd party software to cancel out the motion the sim is preforming .. to in game action,.. so that any movement I visually perceive is me moving in relation to the moving chassis.this method is very susceptible to vibrations,..and slams,... so I am building a vibration dampening/isolating mount for the controller ... I am shooting to have this ready by next weekend, stay tuned !! ... :) thanks for reaching out,... I love positive feedback...!@ its what keeps me going!!

@@Christopherknauf ah maybe that’s what I’m noticing. That’s super exciting with the headset, Looking forward to the video! Definitely a set up that I want to have in the future, I’m interested to see your solutions to cancel out the motion rig. Thanks for all the hard work you put in the videos and the literal beating you take filming these lol

No,...but I am wanting to get a super ultra wide monitor next time the monitor gets destroyed....a three peice setup would add allot of extra mounting bulk.

This is incredible. I read your warnings on your other video. What is the biggest risk of injury you see here? And what is the worst that could happen?

Whiplash/ back pains,... And pinch points. .. I was the crash dummy during development there was a few close calls and a few more where I wish I had stopped movement sooner and was left with back pain for weeks...I have evolved to have two estop methods.. one to pause, and one to fully kill movement as needed.... The danger needs to be acknowledged ,.. respected and anticipated. Good question.

@@Christopherknauf Thank you for the swift response. I am seriously considering taking a welding course to be able to build this. You've really done a fantastic job with this. It looks like so much fun. :)
