We are all very grateful for your open source files and PCB.
Oh man, my back and eyeballs 😵💫😆 Nicely done as always!
This is the only best project.
Fuck yeah! Congrats!
This is an awesome setup.. i have a p3 with fanatec wheel and pedals. I absolutely love horizon 5 I can’t get it to run on my laptop without crashing though. Any tips?
As always another great video hope your not to sore after that one. LOL

This thing does scare me at times, true story
Excellent work! I have a question, I want to strip a dirtbike frame and mount it on this! Do you think that's feasible?

i have heard of someone attempting it, i have certainly thought of it, but many challenges await, for instance,.. i dont want to put my feet/legs anywhere near the moving arms,!!!!

Yea, I am a machinist and I understand what you are talking about more than people should, lol. a flexible cover with a thick layer of foam on top i think at minimum. I did see a professional 6dof with a real bike on it, but the motion SUCKED. I want it to scare me, but safely. I will wear full gear if need be. Also was thinking about a wide hard cone that acts like a cat cone over their head after surgery and follows the bottom of the bike OVER the linkages. It's solvable I think. But is it WORTH it...I know that's personal but from what you're telling me it will be! @@Christopherknauf

Can PCB be changed to DB 25 interface? The area change of PCB is smaller, which is very good.
@Christopherknauf

Yeah it could, it would make things a little more easier,.. though there are off the shelf cables/converters available to do this without making your own cables like I did. if you wanted to do this modification , I may be able to supply a file/website access, .. to allow you to do that/modify the schematic without needing to remap everything on it on your own.?.. i use easyeda.com, and I think they allow me to share it that way....

@@Christopherknauf Because we need more money when we make PCB, if we change the PCB to be smaller, for example, 10x10 can be printed for free in China.

Would it be possible to ask the person from the clip at 0:47 where they found the rigid coupling as we seem to have the same motor/gearbox setup? Is it homemade? I'm trying to advance on my own setup but I'm struggling to find the couplers for my shaft with 22mm diameter. If they have a link for the rod ends I'd be grateful too!
@Christopherknauf

I to had difficulty finding 22mm, so i had the gear shaft output machined down to 20mm and used - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DE5V9QM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@@Christopherknauf that's a workaround I hadn't thought of. Thank you! Did you use the key on the shaft or were the set screws enough to avoid slack and movement?
@Christopherknauf

@@fsxnico I kept the key, and then welded the shaft to the coupler.... To prevent backlash....

also note,... i had the seller of the gear,.. to do the machining

@@Christopherknauf I see, well in that case I guess my best option is to have a coupler custom made and have it welded too, because other than welding or shrink fitting I don't see how backlash can be avoided. Thanks again!
Could you film a take off and landing on an aircraft carrier?? That would be cool so see the sim motion and how aggressive it will be
@MrZhefish

if you miss the landing, they will scrape you off the wall, just like in real life. that's immersion for ya
Hey Christopher, A idea for a update: Build a belt tighter. Seatbelt on a roll, roll fixed somewhere at the backside. Motor maybe with a gear driving the roll. Take the G-force values to tight or loose the Belt. The idea is from Andre'S "Frankenstein" Simulator. He have documented his project very well, like you: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g31rktKFdrydl7Q.html

We use a belt tensioner system as well seat air bladder system in our sim at work,.. it's nice... I have stopped any effort on this project for the time being due to repeat strain from the rig on my body.. Perhaps after some rehabilitation I will be back at it..

The vr I had was lent to me by a subscriber for testing, while vr is fun, it is limiting on time spent in the rig,... As it tires th brain out faster... I will probably get vr of my own sometime in the future.. though

@@Christopherknauf nope the only vr titles I can think of are dirt rally 2.0 and assetto corsa, there might be some rollercoaster titles too but I haven't checked into those
