Calling it now: Mom is a cheater too. Edit: Nothing specifically came out, but I’m still convinced. Between how spineless OP’s dad is, and how much his mom defended his ex, it feels pretty clear to me.

Could be, but also could be a trauma response. She admitted to mentally and emotionally replacing the loss of her stillborn daughter with her daughter-in-law. That being the case, any chance at losing that replacement will dig up the long buried hurt of losing her stillborn, which is a hurt her psyche might not be equipped to handle. If so, her response to defending the wife would be psychologically similar to a victim defending their ab.user.

Honestly i am so tired of these stories, they are always the same, a parent does something that is unforgivable, and the op (always being doormats) chooses to forgive them, i honestly don’t know why that would happen, like the best option will be to cut contact for some time and see if you are comfortable or not, if for some reason you want them back in your life BEFORE they cnotact you then sure try to mend brideges, but if not then why bother? Too much of a hassle, the best option will be to just shut the door in their face and never open it again, i did that and it was the best decision of my life.

Turned out none of them happened and my mom was just broken by the loss of her marriage any of these so-called affairs she accused my dad of happened before her and my dad even met. Mate, what you need to do his cut ties with your Parents and only take them back IF they are ready to accept the Fact that your ex is a two faced cheat. If not, then you're better off without them. As for those who said "You're being too selfish". They are either Cheaters themselves, or THEY are the selfish ones. If they're stupid enough to try and cheat once, then they are stupid enough to try it again. And what the hell does the Mother mean about "Counselling sessions". The Ex is the one who needs therapy.

Even when they were being used, they weren't even court admissable. They're also why I hate shows like Maury povich. They use lie detectors and act like they're concrete evidence when they're not. Have any of y'all stopped to think that maybe the people defending the original posters cheating wife are people who got cheated on and are hating on the guy because it brings up uncomfortable fact that they should have left their own cheating spouse or significant other. There is also the undeniable fact that there are a lot of people who believe in the Hallmark BS about working things out, thick and thin and all that bull. Basically the people I'm talking about in that last bit are blue pill individuals.
