Onttoni Miihkali - Karelia will be free

A speech by Karelian activist Mikko Karvonen, aka Onttoni Miihkali, during the Vuokkiniemi National Assembly in July 20 1941, where Karelian activists and representatives declared their wish for East Karelia to join Finland. The picture is from the same event.

    "wandering to siberia and graves..." actually he says are travelling siberian and crosses road... for some reason they removed connection to religion in subtitles.

    Mannerheim was not even a nationalist, even though his speeches from decades earlier before the world war two, the so called sword oath, inspired and encouraged nationalists quite a bit, especially about the Karelia question. He was actually mistrusted by the most fervent nationalists before the winter war where he proved himself beyond any doubt. His background and suspected loyalties to the tsarist regime made him suspect to many Finnic-minded activists.

    @@herptek he was The Marshall of Finland and later The president, and before that during russian Empire Time he was The tsars something, so you say he was not nationalisti?
