Fun fact: The 3,7 cm PAK 36 was also called HAG by the Wehrmacht troopers. HAG = HeeresAnklopfGerät, lit. Army Knockiing device. What for? For knocking on a Russian tank to see if someone is awake in there,

depends on which tank. these were super good in taking out their light tanks (T-26, BT, T-60/70, etc.) which were majority of their tank force in 1941. but for T-34s and KVs, this applies directly. also for british and french infantry tanks (Matilda and Char B1)

@@archer8849 The Char B1 was a pushover, strong only from the front and very lumbering and inelegant. From the side it was incredibly weak and it was stupidly easy to outmaneuver. It was designed in 1921 after all.. The S35 tank was the one that scared German antitank gunners, if France had had more of them the war might have gone otherwise.

Whenever I make good Motorized rocket artillery it is so fun since the battles last like a couple seconds and the speed means I snake all the way to the enemies capital in a couple days

Woulda' liked to see the casualties on the war against papa Stalin, since it would show how many more/less casualties occured with the historical template. Also what would be interesting is the manpower before and after, because you could analyse how much of an impact the field hospital has.

Historically Germany actually down sized it's infantry divisions in 1942 from 9 infantry battalions to 6 so instead of each bridge having 3 battalions they end up with just 2 each

In all honesty when playing Minors it is probably good to use Anti-tank instead of making shitty tank divisions.

Just use AA. It gives you enough piercing for most of the tanks that the AI makes, at least for the first 2-3 years of war.

@@funbro99 TD's do work but you should only do them if you have factotries and resources to spare. Minors often dont have access to either in excess. Hence its probably be better to do a Infantry Division that can combat tanks.

Not enough horses lol, but I guess if you played US having every division be motorized or mech would kill the global oil supply

I 'think' the PaK 36 could fire a high explosive round (which looks a lot like the rifle grenades infantry wouuld jam down the barrel of their rifles), hence having some soft attack.

When you're so good at HOI4 that you go from just trying to win the game to just trolling the AI at every turn 😂

I thought that the early war German Infantry division did have an AA company as part of the Anti tank battalion? Interesting to see a full historical division playthrough?

Funny isnt it how these two guys have been chasing the meta only to discover historical units were made that way because they worked. Ok, no AA for your divisions might be a problem but its one they did solve later in the war.

Pz 4 DIDNOT in fact have a stub of a gun that is the close support gun in the game. Pz 4's had 75-mm anti-tank capable cannons already. so the game was correct in naming that design.

I don't really understand what you meant but panzer 4's all had short 75mm guns for infantry support at the early stages of the war.

But Pz.Kpfw IV was designated as defence breakthrough tank, while Pz.Kpfw III was a dedicated AT design. It was 1942-43 when Germans begun using 75mm KwK 40 cannon with higher velocity to counter the threats of enemy armor when war was in full swing and everyone used a tank in one form or another.

How about germany full historical, same divisions, same strategies, same national focuses. I would love to see if by any chance germans did not lost the war because of bad desiciones but for other unkown reasons

I made a 3 cavalery/1arty/1anti tank. field hospital,cavalery scout,support arty support AT and engineer, as Norway. I spearheaded for the german army in ironman mode into paris and moscow. i got suprised how well they did lol.

Bitter is the best . I mean you're great too

you have the templates somewhere to download? this seems like a fun idea which might bring me back to hoi iv for a while...

Its actually logistics, also all armies by 42-43 were totally equal or even better than german army. German army of ww2 is overrated imo

Makes tank division, sends it alone against infantry, complains its not effective. USSR winter war moment. Use tanks WITH infantry, infantry tanks damage and org damage so tank division can do free damage. Pretty easy.

it has infantry, the motorized infantry. what the soviets did was basically just in terms of hoi, send a battalion of pure tanks , and even those broke trough the lines but weren't able to do anything because they weren't followed by infantry. A good HOI 4 Tank Div should be able to break trough the lines on it's own.

I was wondered as well and checked. Nope. They relied on their air superiority. But mobile divs (panzer and panzergrenadier) did have. Well known acht-acht is theirs. I would assume it's because CAS were going for tanks and troop transports mostly and were pretty ineffective against leg infantry. Which actually makes sense.
