So true, listening to the utterly horrendous canned laughter on most TV 'sitcoms' and I'm thinking where is the gag, sure, there;s the odd chuckle but most of it would fall flat on its arse if it got a run out first over here and be canned by the TV companies as being utter crap. There's a few UK comedies that are okay but some of it like 'Miranda' is just unfunny and overly contrived.

People will watch it 10, 20 30 Even 40 plus years from now and still find it really funny It is with a shadow any doubt the best sit .com ever made. Nothing will ever change that fact.

I just wish the BBC would finally release all the episodes to buy, fully uncut with original music, no censorship, no removed scenes. The show deserves a full uncut release. There’s scenes and dialog which have never been seen or only aired during the original broadcast. It’s about time we got a definitive release with nothing removed.

Genius scriptwriting that non of Tonys lines before him singing contains a word with the letter R in it. Afterwards they are all over the place including From and even saying Derek in a later scene. Sheer genius.

I'll be watching this, then I see this scene and try so hard to not laugh, but I always end up in tears of laughter. We shouldn't laugh at other people's misfortunes, but this moment is just so funny. Thankfully the guy who plays Tony (Philip Pope) can pronounce his R's properly in real life.

Raquel sounds like a mother who's getting annoyed that there child is miss saying something. And she is just trying to help him to say it properly lol. This scene is so simple but at the same time a work of genius.

He was also in a 'Bee Gees' spoof called 'The Hee Bee Gee Bees' with Angus Deayton years ago and wrote recorded an original comedy song that sounded remarkably like them called 'Ridiculous Songs (In Very High Voices)'. You should all look it up on KZread. Pure comedy gold.

In a documentary about OFAH the writer John Sullivan said Nick Lyndhurst was known for having to try hard to stifle a laugh during filming. In the classic chandelier episode he was warned that as it was a one-take scene if he laughed the scene and the episode would be lost. In the end it was David Jason who had to struggle not to laugh.
