Online Vs In Person Watch Buying

Does the convenience and greater selection of online watch retailers mean the days of buying an affordable watch from a local dealer are soon over?

LOL - I hadn't considered that. They buy online and then have to wait to find a place to resize bracelet 🤔

Have you found any difference in the quality, warranty, servicing etc. when purchasing as for example, a Seiko K1 versus a USA version without the K1 suffix? Also where do you send a Seiko with the model number ending in K1 for warranty repair since Seiko USA will not service it? Lastly where are the K1's manufactured since they do not say "Made in Japan" on them? Thanks I like your videos, good info.

I think J and K at end of model just denote which market Seiko made the watch for. Japan market or international. I have never had to send in a watch for warranty repair as I can fix most things myself, but if you buy a JDM model (Japan Domestic Market) outside of Japan, I think that limits or makes it more difficult to get warranty repair. Used to be that K1 watches were made in Malaysia, but I'm sure by now, Seiko has factories in other parts of the world.

Thanks, My Invicta with the NH35A from Malaysia I recently bought on a timegrapher runs stronger and more accurate than the SRPE63K I also recently purchased. I agree on your market designations after searching around, hopefully I will not need warranty work on the K1. @@watchify1775
