This sounds like a fantastic side-quest for them to create a database of facial scans of youths so they can use that when doing CCTV video scans of crime and other activity. There's no way this was intended _just_ for use with viewers of adult material. The broader implications of having a facial scan *of every UK citizen, regardless of age*, is enormous. And what about chain of custody of that data? Who has access? What is the retention class used to manage this data? How long before it is expunged? How is it encrypted? How is access logged and reported? More questions than we're getting answers for. And what's next when non-adults start just using FaceTime, Signal, Telegram and other sources to reach their material, 1:1 instead? Will those be monitored as well? Is every FaceTime video call going to be subject to facial scanning, recording and transmission to others? We're talking about the TeleScreen from Orwell's 1984 here, with people just monitoring and watching your activities, 24x7.

Well porn it's bad it's a natural process all animals and humans share. Restricting porn will just have the same effects as restricting drugs because people will always find ways to do things differently and it could be a lot worse not to add the guilt everyone will have when they watch even in their adulthood. The government needs to stop joking everyone has their own life and necessarily their own goals. I do agree it is addictive, but this will just spike a new revolution of pH content

Totally agree! My issues with people, let's say for the sake of this conversation, under the age of 15 watching it is it does warp what's "normal" or to be "expected". So I totally feel that's worth trying to stop or slow down. However punishing all adults to do it is not the right way of going about it. And also making a database of people which can be leaked or even used or even worse sold... Hard pass.

Fair question. What age would you say under 18s should be allowed to watch porn? 17? Maybe? It's not a moral standard. It's more I think until you're properly sexually active watching porn warps your view on what's normal.

@@simoncaine9515 I don’t think anyone should be allowed to view porn. If it’s so bad for kids, then it isn’t any better for adults. Turning 18 isn’t a magical event but rather a number decided by a group of people with differing opinions and thoughts, which is likely to change in the next few generations. The next group may decide that 18 was not the correct age after all. Porn has all kinds of adverse effects on us, and I believe the over-sexualization of everything in our lives is scrambling our brains. Just for some context, I come from a religious background where I believe morality is objective, not subjective. I also believe the government has no right to police what we search on our devices, as that opens Pandora’s box to a slippery slope.
