I make a complete change in my approach this year. What I am not doing in 2020 that I have done in the past, that just kept me spinning my wheels and not producing much results 1. I eliminated 80% of what I was doing that was not bringing me more e-mail addresses and customers. 2. I am not spending a single dime on social media marketing or hiring a company to help grow my business. Every time I have done this in the past I never saw any ROI. Facebook ads and such never really did anything for me and cost me hundreds of dollars. What I am doing in 2020 1. Focusing on producing consistent video content on KZread. This is the largest "fishing net" I have to gain new subscribers & e-mail opt in's. That means 2 videos the same day and time each week. I am already seeing a huge jump in my YT analytics and e-mail list growth in Jan. 2. Taking my 40 blog articles on my website and 'refreshing them" to make sure the content is still relevant and "republishing them. Also, using the free social media content publisher Hootsuite to makes sure those articles are being seen on FB, Instagram and Twitter. 2020 the year to be laser-focused on only a couple of things that have proven to be the most effective. Trying to do 15 different things all simultaneously to grow my online business has had me running in circles the last 2 years and I have not been as effective. So, this year equals work fewer hours and be more hyper focused during the time I do work to be more effective. Your podcast has really helped me re-prioritize my efforts. Thank you for that!

One of the best advice is to see "yourself" from the side. Like in sports: you see your mistakes much better and clearer as you see yourself doing them when filming yourself doing them. The same goes to "personality".

Another great message, Graham - thank you. Always appreciate your levelheaded commentary. Point number one is so important that you could do an entire segment around it.

I personally havent launched my music career yet because Im still honing my craft and am striving for that quality that doesnt rely heavily on using effects on my natural sound, but I've definitely learned alot about these concepts through research on the side in my overall journey. Like proper branding, securing your following, and providing good customer service are not new, but people can always be improving on this and making an even more personal, real experience, and still dont understand these concepts to their very depth. I'm a poet, half baked philosopher, and an introvert who has great care for how other people receive what I say and do. So I have greater foresight and sensitivity for behind my actions, and the potential behind these concepts than most people just don't understand. Too many people look for quick answers and dont understand that the more you work on personal development the deeper your brand becomes, the more you actually have to offer, and the better you can connect with people on all levels who relate with you. So just by working on yourself, you already have a more developed brand and potential to improve your customer service. As for relying on social media, thats so true, like its not meant to do everything for you. If anything all the ways they create for creators to stimulate engagement now make it harder for creators to be authentic in their approach. Because once everyone does it, its no surprise what you're trying to do. And that's a big failure going on rn, thinking you can systematize your work and automate it and not expect the detriment that comes with that lack of humanity behind it. Honestly can't wait to get a job with the degree I got so I can finally pursue my music career with more stability and mobility in my pursuits.

Be yourself, in my case I suffer from migraine and Lost voice, still making videos to help others, not hindered, not stopping, don't rely on a platform to grow, be determined to be the best than the rest, customer service is the way to keep those that know like and trust you. 2020 and beyond is yours, let's do this.

Hey Graham, love your content. However I think Facebook changed their algorithms mainly to increase engagement from their users by figuring out if the content is high quality by first showing it to a few followers before showing it to all of them, not to let the pages pay for their exposure.

Hey Graham, struggling between a few ideas for an online business - but how do you decide what content to give away for free, and what to charge for? My fear is that I won't have enough content to fill both, or the free content won't look much different than the paid one, which I feel would disappoint customers. Any thoughts you can share?

Hey Graham, I'm feeling this - I've put out a few great freebies but it's so hard to even get folks to download them - COMMODITY much !. I'm definity trying to find my tribe - not sure how to be a "personality" and how to tell my story. Would love you to talk about that. Also, what do you think about IG removing likes?
