Worked perfectly. Took a couple of minutes to open it up, but everything else was easy. 15€ for the part on eBay, dash charge etc all working. Zero issues and no visible gaps left from opening it. Thanks!

My OnePlus 5T required a T1 driver, not a T2. Also, I used a guitar pick instead of a spudger as that's all I had. It worked okay, but not until I used the side to side sliding and pushing motion shown in the video. Also of note, I did a postmortem on my old power sub-harness, and it may have been salvageable with a good cleaning. I was able to pull a surprising amount of pocket lint from inside the USB-C connector with careful manipulation of an xacto knife blade. My theory is the compacted lint was preventing a complete mate of connectors. Once I removed the small harness, I could more completely examine the terminals. They looked okay. Either way, the new connector mates very well and executes a satisfying click when it's pressed over a charging cable. Works great! Thanks for posting this HOWTO!

I had issues charging my phone and thought it was the port that was at fault. After reading your comment, I had a poke around with a sowing needle and removed a load of compacted pocket fluff. Turns out I had the same issue with the audio jack, phone is 100% all good and didn't even pick up a screwdriver...... Cheers for the tip!

Thanks for making the video - this gave me the confidence to repair my 5T's doesn't-want-to-charge problem. However, the video is very wrong on a couple things. I bought a T2 Torx driver and a kit with 2 spudgers and neither of these were useful. Some commenters say you need a T1 Torx; I used a 0.8mm Phillips for all 6 screws. And forget the spudger altogether - the part I bought came with a plastic guitar pick and that's all you need. You can start to pry off the back by inserting your fingernail above the USB connector where the metal is most flexible, then pry the phone up by pushing the pick down and sliding/rolling it around the corner and edges releasing each clip. While you do this you may break the waterproofing seal. If that matters to you be careful when you are first prying apart the two pieces. You can also use a hair dryer on high heat and the fan on low to loosen the adhesive when removing the old cable so you're not prying on that so much. Took me about 2 hours to complete this - if you skip the bad info and if your eyes work or you have a decent pair of glasses it should go faster.

Thanks for the video! Took me two hours to fix - taking off the backing was definitely the hardest part! I discovered the screws that were holding the usb port were not long enough so the port itself was always loose! Had to tape it down as a hack! Dash charging no longer works but now at least I can charge my phone still! Not perfect but kinda fixed!
