Linkin Park is an alternative rock band renowned for their hits “Numb,” “In the End,” “What I’ve Done,” “Castle of Glass,” “New Divide,” “Crawling,” and “Faint.” They worked with artists like Jay-Z, Metallica, Steve Aoki, and Paul McCartney - amassing billions of global streams and received the UN Global Leadership Award for their humanitarian work.
Lyrics:
I cannot take this anymore
Saying everything I've said before
All these words they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Less I hear, the less you say
You'll find that out anyway
Just like before
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
I'm about to break
I find the answers aren't so clear
Wish I could find a way to disappear
All these thoughts they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Nothing seems to go away
Over and over again
Just like before
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
I'm about to break
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to
Break!
Shut up when I'm talking to you!
Shut up!
Shut up!
Shut up!
Shut up when I'm talking to you!
Shut up!
Shut up!
Shut up!
Shut up!
I'm about to break!
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
I'm about to break
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to
Break!

@@acetrexofficial There was/is (although Dylan Brady of 100 Gecs is pretty close when he tries) no one that sounded like Chester when it came to vocals. It was truly unique at the time. Then again, the whole band itself was in a league of its own at the time sonically. They truly pulled off the Hybrid Theory people were attempting at the time (props to Sum 41's Fat Lip for it's creativity though).

The evolution of the band is so awesome! Starting out with hard hitting songs and dyed hair like this when they were young, and then making more mature sounding music as they got older (example: Shadow of the Day). I love every song from LP, and what I love most is that they changed over the years and didn't stay exactly the same with their music. RIP Chester.

Because there were such a slew of 2000's "nu metal" bands (both originators as well as LP copycats), I really feel this band is criminally underrated. It's such a unique sound and successfully merges hip hop and metal, but also pop and punk. It's a great sound and the songs really do capture what it's like to feel sad, angry, lonely, etc (and this isn't specific to this genre, the Smith's achieved the same thing with their brand of pop and the Sex Pistols with punk.) A lot of music from this era is really addressing mental illness, self harm and trauma. The fact that this connects with so many people speaks volumes about the need for music like this, that somehow helps people to identify with, and release, their emotions through it. This band also seem very genuine whereas so many bands from this time seemed to capitalise on false angst.

@Yvan Forbes Flores I dont mean in terms of album sales, I meant critics and music snobs often dismiss them for being "just another nu metal band". You're right, they're an incredibly successful band.
