Great list of patterns. I’ve knit the house slippers twice, for my brother-in-law. (Size 12). He is diabetic and said they were just what he needed.

I literally finished my Italian summer scarf 2 days ago ! I'm a old knitting beginner, and it was a really good pattern to start learning how to read a knitting pattern.

The Tan House Brook shawl by Jennifer Lassond (Boston Jen) is a great one for a single skein of fingering. I just finished my second one the other day. Super potato chippy. Paris in Berlin by Joji is another one that I’ve knit more than once

new viewer, will be back! I made the dumpling bag in cotton, did not like the result. no structure to it. I'm currently finishing the mini float tote by knitty natty, with the same cotton yarn held double, and that improves the no-structure problem. also, got a linen yarn that is specified in the dumpling bag pattern, will try that out.

Good to know! Yeah cotton is very prone to stretching out. You may even like it better in a merino with some nylon!

Hi, I'm a new subscriber 😄 Thank you for some great ideas! I would like to recommend a beautiful 1-skein shawl from Dee O'Keefe called Shady Grove. I knit it at the beginning of the year and absolutely love it! It's a similar idea to the shawls you mentioned where you can just knit to the exact amount of yarn you have so can make it longer or shorter accordingly. Also, I'm currently knitting a pair of fingerless mitts for my mum's birthday from a pattern by the New Yorker, Foscari mitts, and really enjoying them. They would be great as a special 1-skein project, although I'm knitting them with two contrasting yarns.
