Nope. The iPhone7 had regular glass with a "Sapphire" screen protector on it. But even the protector wasn't pure sapphire.

you seem to not know what battery voltage is... And jerry already told that you will not be able to fully charge OP3 with OP3T battery. Its better than placing OP3 battery in OP3T which might lead OP3T in flames.

it will not work, the battery voltages are slightly different. the OP3T battery will be charge to 4.35V instead of the full 4.4V because that's how battery chargers work, they charge to the correct voltage not the mAh.... there is a custom kernel for the OP3 that lowers the voltage so it increases battery life span and I'm pretty sure the developer can implement the change for it to charge to the higher voltage instead.

Lithium batteries are charged with CC-CV method. Constant-Current, Constant-Voltage. You start the charge with Constant-Current. Output voltage is X, current is Y. Continue that until the battery itself reaches voltage X. Switch to Constant-Voltage mode. Output voltage is still X but your current starts to drop automagically. Continue CV until you reach your termination current. Usually lithium chargers have a 50mA termination current. Just because the software sees 3000mAh as "hardwired" or the default value, doesn't mean that the OP3 phone wouldn't charge the larger OP3T battery to full. What this all means is that the charging circuit doesn't give a flying fuck about mAh's. It just looks at the voltage of the battery.

Lagittaja this is exactly true. Only Apple has a management chip inside their batteries (you can look up charge cycles and remaining capacity on an iPhone). I haven't seen any Android phone that has this kind of battery management. They all just have a 3 pin battery connection which only gives the mainboard power and connects the temp sensor inside the battery. One Plus set the battery capacity in software so that the Android battery management can calculate the usage on an per app basis. But it should adapt to the actual capacity after a few cycles.

That's how you do real Sapphire glass, not like Apple and their "Sapphire glass" screen protector. And it seems like it doesn't increase the cost too much, does it? If OnePlus can put real Sapphire on a $440 phone, Apple should be able to do it on a $800 phone, right?

Kyocera had a Brigadier with a Sapphire display and it only costed around $400. Combined with wireless charging in a durable phone and you've got incredible value. Here's to hoping the Verizon version of the Duraforce Pro also gets a sapphire display. :)

EdvisKing No. some colorblind people can see only 2 colors of the primary 3, Red Green Blue. so a colorblind man can for example see Green and Blue but not Red. English isn't my first language but I hope you understand what I mean.

I'm pretty sure you cannot tell the capacity of a battery just by running software. I'm not sure the battery really reports to the phone the mAh capacity, just it's percentage which is based on the voltage it is outputting. The traditional charge/discharge/charge cycle is still the most dependable method to measure battery capacity. I'm pretty sure these battery capacity apps just pull the specs down from the web for your device and just tell you the factory specs.

Sapphire is great. I have a couple nice automatic watches that I wear everywhere and only one of them has a sapphire crystal. The mineral glass crystal is scratched up while the sapphire lens is flawless

The charging circuitry is calibrated to stop charging at a certain voltage and cuts of the battery at a certain voltage. The max voltage of the 3 battery is 4.35 and for the 3t 4.4. Because the battery of the 3t has a bigger capacity, it takes longer to get from 4.4v to the cut of voltage. I think it's perfectly fine to put the battery from the 3t in the oneplus 3. The only thing is it would charge to only 4,35v (something like 95%) it's also better for a battery to not always been charged to the max. Can't discover a downside...

Please do a video loop battery test on the oneplus 3 and then with the oneplus 3t battery to see if its really bigger capacity or lies.
