Honestly this would make a lot of sense, since there are a multitude of frozen burger types people have access to. I am a fan of having at least a small reserve of frozen burgers because sometimes it's 3am and I want a burger, and everything is closed. If most of these frozen burgers are like a D or an F, but one or two of them are like a B-, sometimes that is good enough. I would like to know which ones those are. I been actually buying the same ones they used in this video that were in the middle tier, the walmart ones. If there are bettter that I have access to though I would get those instead.

If I was in PR for that Wagyu brand, I would be giving Guga a call and offering to send him a box or two that was not as badly handled as the one he got. Something tells me that one was picked up by someone and was in thier cart for ever. Then it got put back in the freezer section. Something had to happen for that to go that bad.

Yeah, I agree. The Wagyu burgers looked like they were left in room temp and refrozen. Maybe a proper box of them would help do some justice. Although Guga and his group are too spoiled for the fresh burgers to really accept them anyway.

Not saying they started out great, will take your word for it, but the pack Guga took home had definitely been defrosted and refrozen. The color, freezer burn, ice crystals and having to pry them apart and pick the wax paper off all indicate being refrozen. Pig customers take them from the freezer and decide they don't want them in the potato chip aisle, throw them on the shelf all of the time. Employees find them and put the merch back in the freezer, hopefully before they've thawed.

None of the patties are in cryocac bags. They are all susceptible to freeze burn. The longer they sit in the freezer, the worse they get. Just being Wagyu does not make it special. Wagyu being pricey, when they make ground beef, they would make it out of the most undesirable remnants. The winner was ground from whole muscle Angus chuck.

As someone who eats frozen burgers on the regular as they are super easy to acquire and prepare I can confirm that Bubba burgers pretty much taste the best out of the ones that I've tried (and I've tried A LOT) and that pretty much every burger that's labeled as "wagyu" is a scam where they are overpriced and at best taste just like a regular burger. Honestly, the best bang-for-your-buck burgers that I've found which Guga scoffed at were the regular Walmart-brand 80/20 burgers. I find that they cook up quite nicely and easily AND are very affordable for a pack of 12 burgers.

my favorite burger so far was one I made with packaged 80/20 ground beef that looked more like red spaghetti. It was something I have to pack tightly or else it would fall apart BUT when it cooked it was marvelous. It would flare up, seer, and had a delicious flavor and crust. The meat was so juicy and smelled smoky despite being pan fried and only having salt and pepper and a tiny bit of soy sauce. By far better quality than any pre-made burgers i’ve ever had.

That's what I use every time. You can get juicier if you do 70/30, but not everywhere sells it, and I find the 80/20 to be a good compromise healthwise. I also try my best not to pack it together too tightly cause it ends up being more tender to me if I can leave it as loose as possible. I just roll it up into a ball and smash it down for smash burgers.

The best way I've found to split them is to run it under the faucet for a few seconds, which should melt some of the ice without completely defrosting it. Also, do not use a knife like that, as you risk cutting yourself and breaking the knife. 2:43 Those 15% fat ones are what I normally get. They end up a bit smaller, but are quite good for the price.

I just keep four or so in the fridge before I put the rest in the freezer, or thaw them on the counter. They cook up pretty much like fresh. Noi way i'd buy frozen food from that sort of freezer. its bad enough when stores have refrigerated food on those cooled open shelves. i always try to get stuff from the back where you know its been kept cold. Stuff at the front just wont last as long as the date says it should. One christmas my mom got a turkey from the same place i got one the year before. I showed up the day the turkeys were delivered, got one the moment it came off the freezer truck. Where as she got one several days after they were delivered and picked up one of the front of the shelves. I don't have to tell you, that thing was rotten by christmas eve when i came to butcher it for her and she had to run around trying to find another turkey on christmas eve.

Try the """wagyu""" burger patties in the fresh meat section of Walmart - obviously they certainly aren't real wagyu or even close to it, but they're a solid notch above the frozen burgers and Walmarts standard hamburger/fresh packaged burger patties. When I first saw them I laughed because "wagyu", but they legit sold me after I finally decided to try them on a whim lol.

The best frozen burger is one you make yourself and it can still be a time saver. I have a great method I use for freezing patty's in bulk, you use clean film~ First roll out a square a bit bigger than the patty size you want, drop a ball of meat into the middle and cover over again with film. Cut the edge and then use a cutting board to press it flat, fold in the edges of the clean film and BAM!! you have a nice little freezable package that you can stack and they never stick or get freezer burn easily (because the meat is pressed so close to the plastic).

Nice to be able to get frozen plain classic hamburger patties like that. In Greece you get those intricate patties with egg, crumbs, onion, parsley, etc.... but some times simpler is better, I just want meat flavor :D As for the wagyu ones... any time I've had a wagyu burger in Australian restaurants it tasted like regular burger. I think wagyu only works with steak and skewer.

The best burgers I ever had was from a Cafe in New Cross in 1987. The butcher made them and I have never come across anything that ever tasted near like them since. It is even hard to explain the flavour, but it is not like any frozen or restaurant burgers, not anywhere near. If you bought them from a frozen aisle in the supermarket you would say they looked well economy. I would pay £25 just to have that taste experience again.

A pro-tip for getting the stubborn paper off of frozen things: Run them under hot water for a second. Just a quick dip/splash. Obviously, you can't do that for filming reasons. But at home, this has never let me down. I think that the lesson we all need to take away is: The most popular selling burgers are probably better than ones that SIT AROUND getting freezer dried beef texture.

If you don't trust me, at least trust guga: remember how he always meticulously patting his sous vide meats dry. With minced meat, those water are going in them crevices forever. The pro-est tip here is to let em sit in your fridge or counter before handling frozen foods.
