Interesting video, great work. Yes I think the F is for Florentine (Besson's wife who owned the company by then) rather than 'French'. I thought it was a London Besson when you mentioned the valve block. However, the designs were very very similar and may have been almost identical at that period.
Wow, that is a magnificent looking PreWar Besson cornet. It is a grand prix designated stamp right?

Thanks for checking out the video. This horn went back to the owner after I cleaned it up a bit. Really a nice cornet. It was an English version - think it was just post war - but could be wrong here.
