A lot of times a capsule mod is a subtle change, but this killer Arienne flat k47 takes this mic from usable to highly desirable.

wow what a difference.... i actually bought mine knowing that it could be a potential donor if it didnt work out (and I have a capsule sitting around) so maybe I will try that out

The circuit is pretty good. They just put the wrong capsule on it, and a cheap one at that, so it can easily go from an ok mic to one you might want to use a lot.

Hi Mike, I changed capsule at my V47BF and must say they changed type of saddle with standard one now. Bought it in Dec 23. I only unscrewed original saddle and mount the one from Arienne audio that came with. Only thing was it was to wide for maybe 1 mm so I made plastic thinner from the side. I made test and is darker now from original capsule but fuller sound. Im using Apollo x8p like you have. Can you please tell me how much EQ you applied to your voice on this video on Arienne version? + 5dB or something on highs?? Thank you for this video, I already bought Epoxy but thanks god didnt need it😂. I think they modified mic a bit cause the + wire from center of the capsule was solderd in the inner side of plate not the outside like you showed in video... so I had to unscrew it too.

Hey! Awesome video about the BaiFei Li again! Would you recommend the C414 and the V10 over the V47 without the upgrades? I would love yo upgrade one, but importing the parts to Brazil and the additional costs are some factors that I can't bother to have right now! My use would be for a general all-around mic for a home studio and I already have a pair of small diaphragm mics, a SM57 and a R121 inspired ribbon. I was thinking about buying both the V10 and the C414, but kinda was waiting for a V47 review to know if it's worth the price tag!

Thank you! Ok, so out of the box, stock, the 414 is probably the best bet. It's very neutral, though it is a bit noisy. Taking into account the V47 may arrive wired out of phase, if you or someone you know is handy with a soldering iron you can fix that in 2 minutes and, stock, it's not bad and much quieter than the V10. For the most part, the V10 and V47 sound very similar because they both use the same not-so-great capsule, but the V10 is much noisier. So, if you can fix the V47, should it arrive out of phase, and I say this because as of this writing we've identified 5 different V47s that all arrived wired out of phase, I'd easily recommend it because should you ever choose to modify it with a new capsule, it would be easier to do so than with the 414 or the V10. So, of the 3, I'd put the V10 third overall if I had to choose. It looks cool, but the circuit is so-so and capsule modification is rather difficult.

Thank you, Alberto! It wasn't so much that I couldn't get in touch, but I was told they were looking into it and "the boss" would get back to me. (revising this part) So, another guy who got his V47 today is also reporting it out of phase. It's a shame yours is also wired wrong, but the good news is that it's a very easy fix so if you have a friend or co-worker who can solder, you can probably get it fixed for the cost of a beer.

Great video Mark. I bought this mic also back when you previewed their other mics. Sounds decent. I removed the bottom and pulled out the board but I don't see anything that looks like your shot at 3:37?

Hey Bill! Check the bottom of the front board where it says XLR 2 and XLR 3. Those are the two wires to switch.

I have tow mics one is Focusrite CM25 MK iii and Akg c3000. can you tell me how can I improve the sound of the mics? AKG is defeated, I mean its output is so low, love from Bangladesh. I really love your content. you deserve a million subscribers !

Thank you! I’m pretty happy with the subscriber base, since most here seem to know what they want. :) As for improving your sound, better acoustic treatment on the walls in your recording space will go a long way. Also, perhaps look into upgrading your interface.

Hello, I'm hoping you can help me with some questions about the mt 48. Do you know if I would be able to replace my goxlr with this device? I want to be able to use it for streaming and have background music and game audio etc. does it have that sort of routing capabilities?

Hi, I really enjoy your videos. I am a music producer in Puerto Rico. I’m interested in buying Michrophone for 47, 67 and 87 type. I want to use it for recording is it going instruments: acoustic guitars, horns and percussion. The Baifei Li with the Arienne K 47 sounds interesting. Would that be a good option? @@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff I think I am going to try one too. Looks cool at least even if it sounds the same as some of the cheaper ones. Tried one of the "Fang Dong" mics from PROAR which I think is just a rebranded V10. Curious how it compares!

The V5 sounds a bit different to my ears. Not as much weight in the low end. My V47 came wired correctly. They must have listened to you! Mark you should try the V7, my current fave.

@@TheMoyWonder They told me that they have updated and fixed the V47! I have one of the new ones comeing along with a V5. The V7 looks really cool. Tinker Dan on the discord server has one and likes it. I think he's modding it.

@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff So I got the v5 today and it's the oddest thing. It sounds like the body of the mic is acting as the mic and the actual capsule won't pick up anything. It picks up my handling noise really well or if I yell you can barely hear my voice. Have you experienced this effect before? Is this from having the wires backwards like you noticed in some other mics?

Fun fact, the hakan style pop filters use aquarium filter material. ...and now you know... doo doo doo!
