I am the Great Grandson of 2 Union soldiers. One wounded attacking Richmond. The other was wounded attacking Baton Rouge. This trend to erase and demean the Confederacy is incredibly off the mark. To demean your opponent is to cheapen your victory. The confederate soldier was brave and loyal. The civil war soaked many fields with American blood. THEY WERE ALL BRAVE MEN fighting for what they felt was the right.

If they keep taking down the Southern symbols , then they need to do away with mlk day and Black history month to . I think it's only fair put the pledge of Allegiance back in school's and let the students have what they want on their vehicles/property and the principal stop violating the students rights and if you don't like someone just stay away from them instead of bickering about certain things . Everyone has Rights in this Country and we should be able to express them freely without all the violence . Agree. It was fought over state sovereignty. People forget that part two of Lincoln's emancipation of slaves was returning them to Africa. He shared the point of view that the caucasians and Africans could not cohabitate peacefully or effectively. This is a song whose time has come again. It's a song Jefferson Davis and Donald Trump would be proud of. Let it be a rallying cry for restoration of the Republic. My salute to the Stars and Bars of this Confederacy! William

The south did nothing but focus on defense, the union on offense. Kinda hard to justify your righteous cause when you go and do all of that. That's incorrect. The US regime made agreements with South Carolina and Florida concerning military installations. The US regime violated those armistices first by reinforcing against the agreement. So, in fact, the Lincoln regime committed the first acts of war. After that, he was doing what the regime does to this very day, poking and prodding so they can then scream that the victim attacked first.

Please explain how a sovereign State that chose to enter a confederacy of States under a Constitutional government by its own free choice, with the acknowledged right by all signatories that the sovereign States could at any time leave, could be traitors for freely leaving when the agreed Constitution was breached. Perhaps you didn't realize that it was part of the years long process of the sovereign Nation States that came together to cooperate under a Constitutional, Republican form of government, to agree that they could just as freely leave.

interesting fact: minorities fought side by side with confederate soldiers. Union blacks had to fight for their freedom in a separate SEGREGATED regiment. 4 union states were slave states at the start of the war. Civil war was started by a DICTATOR, in a crusade to force the south in to submission. Prior to the war it was each states right to be a part of the United states, and also their right to leave it if so desired. Lincoln did not acknowledge the states sovereignty, violating the constitution by raising an army to invade another country and force it's will upon those people.

Question? So did Lincoln give every Blackman 40 acres and a mule as he promised. Wow, land given to you and a mule to plow. The South was not all plantations and slavery. Many white people worked their own land and fields. It's not our fault they didn't know what to do.! Besides Sherman destroyed EVERYTHING, homes, barns and burned the fields.

If blacks really want to hate somebody then they should look to their own last names because when freed most blacks used the last name of their slave owners for identification. Example: if your slave owners name was Brown then you assumed that name to justify and verify where you came from! Think about it... all the blacks with the last name Washington.... they didn't bring that name from Africa with them... that was their owners name! Why take it out on "all" whites... just look at your last names, that would tell you exactly who were the slave owners in the US!

Brother, Lincoln only reléased slaves in the South during the war. He kept slaves in the North úntil the war ended. He needed them to go fight the South promising a freedom if they fought he was going to give them anyway had them not fought....
