On a recent trip to Jeffrey Lee Puckett’s.. I thought I would chronicle one of his greatest Vinyl Record purchases. Here is a fine selection of records JLP bought for $4 bucks a piece several years ago. Great to see JLP ! This is a true story. I'm at an estate sale in a upscale neighborhood. Really beautiful house. I walk out the front door and there's a man standing there smoking. I said beautiful home he says thanks it's mine. He's selling to move closer to his grandchildren. He points down the street about five houses away and says that's his mom's house shes having an estate sale also. I walk in her garage and on a table there is a stack of about 10 albums. On top is Frank Sinatra next one is Dean Martin the next is David Bowie's first album, on Deram Promotional stamp on the back. The sign said Record's $ 2 bucks. I go to pay for The Bowie album and the guy says it half off day, so I paid a $1 buck for it. Blew my mind, I'm like what is a first press copy of Bowie's first album doing in a 85 years old women's house, with the Sinatra's and Martin's albums. One of my best finds ! ✌️

Great album. I was a little skeptical because I loved Firepower but this one is on par.. At the moment, I sitll like FIrepower a little more. Still a great win and major contender for AOTY.

Now that's a nice guy to know. $4 a throw???!! I actually didn't realize there was a US original pink rim. Thought it was like the others which are US Antilles originals. I do have the UK 2nd press of Pink Moon on the second label which from what I'm told, uses the same plate and therefore sounds just as good as the 1st. But that pink rim....

Only ever seen one Nick Drake in the wild and it was priced accordingly. Actually, saw the 2nd Moondog last week. Was the exact opposite. Probably should have grabbed it, but i do see it from time to time.
That is a box of goodies.

I just got the same copy of The Sex Pistols at a convention minus the press kit.

Man ! I'd love to have that Sex Pistols with the white label & Press Kit & the Marquee Moon as well ! The late Tom Verlaine is one of my favorite musicians. Brilliant , understated guitarist 🎸 .. He's Nels Clines favorite as well.

It’s not fashion. It’s quicker and easier to access the record when listening, plus I don’t have to remove the outer sleeve.
