Rich, that was a stunning home. By the time Jim and sell our home and pay off debt in 2025 Our budget will be smaller than this beauty list price. Hopefully we can find something as grand in our budget. We may rent for three months to make sure we like the area and to familiarize the area. Mexico's residency/visa's have just changed and the amount of money you need to live there is outrageous (Over $6,000 USD + $50,000 in the bank for the last 12 months). My figures may be slightly off but pretty close. for Canadians, it's $8,000/month earnings. WTH?

Those figures are not correct. Also those two requirements are one or the other, not both. You need the savings or the income, or own a home worth in the upper 500K area. Temporary leads to permanent so start there...

Also the Mexican Government is only looking to entertain “Executive” types so they are raising the financial requirements. Cutting out the vast majority that are in the lower income brackets.

Going through the process now, you must show 12 months of savings or income balance they are looking for, and they want a letter from the financial institution affirming the accounts and balances are owned by you.
