    I had the idea to do this. I did some research on it (i.e.) when did the show air, commercial dates, time of day etc. I want to stich kids commercials to kids shows, regular to the family show, and then the late night commercials for the night. You guys remember/ notice how they played lighter (in color and humor)..

    My brother passed away some time ago now, my mom remarried a while back , my dad remarried as well and my sister is a busy mom of 3 .. in 1999 when me and my brother and sister would sit in the living after brushing our teeth. My mom and dad would be in their room watching the news. I remember sitting next to my brother and excited for Christmas that year . My mom and dad would talk about Y2K lol how much I would love to re live that moment. No school either cause it was winter recess lol . I miss those moments . That’s why I cherish every moment now .

    @@supahkoopatv Plus everything is now called ''cringe'' because people can't enjoy simple things anymore. People today compare everything to things from the past or they hate things for the sake of hating things. Yet at the same time, new invented things from today are really bad or remakes. I used to watch television with my father but the tv he had was in black and white. Nobody of us cared about it that the television had no color, you were just happy you could watch something. You try that with kids or even some adults today, you'll trigger a third world war with their behaviour.

    Well, you said it: they're nostalgic. For me, listening to these old commercials is a way to remind myself of who I used to be, so many years ago. In a way it's like going back home. I resented these things when they were new, and yet, here I am, listening to them and remembering where I was, who my friends were, when first I saw these ads. We can't go back, but we can LOOK back, which is almost as good.

  • @ValSempai

    @ValSempai

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thats not hard to figure out at all, think about how many times you've fallen asleep with the tv on as a kid? whether it was for a nap or even waking up to turn the tv off in the middle of the night and go back to sleep. These commercials were basically burned into your memory, they played in the middle of your show. They played in the background while you or someone else near were having a conversation and they were playing while you drifted off to sleep. I feel as though we correlate them to sleeping more often than not because our subconscious remembers all the times we fell asleep to these as kids and that brings us to a place of familiarity and care free and through that we feel safe and at peace.

    The tommy hillfigure commercial would be controversial today . And it's just a commercial celebrating American greatness . Wow how we've fallen away from our American values . You know your society is crumbling . When you value self deprecation and identity over society as a whole .

    I was 9 and I felt the same! I really love watching these old commercials but I also feel really sad. Everything back then just seemed amazing. Going to the movies, the mall, Best Buy, Hollywood video, circuit city, blockbuster. At least we still have the memories!
