This is the best tip I can recommend. Throw away your pen and paper. I had to do 12WPM CW exam to get on the HF bands in the year 1997. And I had to write everything down on paper to prove I could take CW at that speed. ] But once I got on the air I found it very difficult to get passed the 20WPM. Something was holding me back. And guess what? Someone told me to throw away the pen and paper and just take CW with your head, using your ears. What happened was that I not took CW letter by letter, but was recognizing complete words like tnx fer qso, etc etc. My speed bump was enourmus and even got near the 30WPM fast enough to even make qso's with the "high speed" stations. So yes I totaly agree with you. Don't use the pen and paper..... (PA5MC)

Rob K6RB that is a massive problem for me head reading sentence with older brain matter and coming back to CW after a 32 year lapse I still only do rubber stamp qsos thinking what to say in a CW qso using a sentence is so difficult and a real skill. 73 Phil G0BVD
