True words Bob after coming back to CW after a 32 year lapse with older brain matter all my training has been computer generated it was a real shock when listening to on air qso's I felt I was back to square one! 73 Phil G0BVD

Couldn’t agree more. Everything changed for me when I got on the air. I made my first CW QSO 3/26/24 POTA hunting and have since activated 3 parks in POTA. I still have so far to go with proficiency, especially with copying. But as you get on the air confidence increases dramatically as does the learning. Thanks!

Very excellent advice. I was off the air over 20 years, getting back on in 2022. I LOST MY HEAD COPY! But by doing regular QSOs, it's coming back. For me, "live fire practice" really helps. Makes it sink in. Relationship through QSOs also helps greatly. I ENJOY the contacts and my brain learns while I do. KG8DA

Been a CW op for 50 years. Once you head copy words you are good to go, still practice my CW sending proficiency, high speed transmission is harder than reception once you can copy well. Good advice and 73's de W5YB
