I would like to say something, because I know that there are many people there who like this very much. I live in Holland, but I am not from Holland. I come from Bosnia and Herzegowina where we live exectly the way Rene and her family live. And she is the great mother and grandmother. I feel like I am back in my Bosnia, guys. Back in a days, when I was a child, I spend my holidays at my grandmothers. In Bosnia at that time we had a 3 free months in summer., of the school. I was at my grandmothers, there with my cousin. My grandmother had chickens. Me and my cousin, were played with those chickens, even paint their nails in red!! O, boy, we were punished. Yes, we were. But,...I am now 53, I am know remeber those days,....the best of my life.

Hi Rene, this is Sue, l love watching you, cause l like to bulk cook myself, mostly for days l don't know what to cook and when you look in the freezer and you see something 90% done, well lets just say that is a bonus, Anyhoo,, we like sloppy joes too, l discovered cornbread goes wonderfully with sloppy joes, bake it up, cut a nice size chunk and then pour your sloppy joe's over it OMG, won't eat it anymore with buns. only cornbread, such a difference in flavour as well and lighter l think. But never thought of cooking it up and mixing it all together and then freezing it, this is on my list now, (once l empty my freezer out a bit, been stocking prep'd meat for hubby, as l am having shoulder surgery at the end of the month and will be out of commision for a few weeks)

I love this channel.....something about cooking for large groups just appeals to me. Being single with my family of kids/ex (cook for them often) this hits home. I just understood that you don't have a lid big enough for the skillet....but having seen (in previous vids) the grand-daddy mixing bowl....would that not work? I realize it's not the same material....cast iron vs stainless steele?.....but if you're only trapping the heat to cook a little quicker, is there a danger there? Asking because not only am I curious, but have considered doing the same with just a 12in cast iron with no lid.

Not that batch, I made that for my daughters family. I use my homegrown onions for John as he does well with them. He loves onions too.

@@LittleVillageHomestead Oh, OK…Just wondered because at the beginning of the video you said you were making it for your freezer and for your daughters. I don’t eat onions but it still looked very yummy.
