Once Upon a Time in the Underground (Minecraft cave prototype)
On Minecraft Live Oct 3 we announced the Caves and Cliffs update, which includes (among many other things) new cave generation. Here is the extended version of the cavegen demo we showed there.
Here is the soundtrack:

Now over to you. What kind of caves would YOU like to see in the Caves and Cliffs update? Inspire us! Post links, pics, videos, drawings.
Some disclaimers about this demo:
- The mountains at the beginning and end are only placeholders (the actual mountains will probably look quite different).
- We use glowing ores as a placeholder for possible new yet-to-be-added light sources (no promises though!)
- Some of the caves in this demo are really huge! Those will probably be rare. When prototyping we like to push the boundaries to explore what is possible. We'll also have small claustrophobic caves, plus some of the old cave generation.

Plot twist: He made this video just to flex with his cape.
I know the caves are the big thing, but can we just talk about that soothing music for a sec? you are so talented
Why is no one bringing up how good his music is? It gave me calming beach mario vibes
Who came from xisuma void video??
Who got this from xisuma?
Ironically they will look like this
That village looked properly epic though
The placeholder mountains became reality with 3d biomes
can we please have a cave music background when were in a big cave like chimes sounds or something
everyone talking about the caves while i'm looking at the mountains...
EPIC
Mountains are going to be one giant cake:
"Yet to be added lightsource"?
I know everyone is talking about the new caves, but i'm here wandering if this song will come into the game when exploring caves!
OK I published the sound track.
"Placeholder mountains, they won't look like this"
"Once Upon a Time"
Honestly if they add this music to Minecraft I wouldn’t mind. Imagining entering a lush cave and you just hear this. That would be so atmospheric.
I like how the overworld biomes kind of seep into the cave openings
Thanks for everything, Henrik
