    Because its a laser scan meaning all elevation and each pebble will show up giving the most accurate representation

    Yeah, it would have been much nicer to release 3 or 4 videos. One could have been this but it would have been much nicer to have another video with the camera view above his helmet and maybe another video from the camera at the nose of the car so so things from the driver's height.

    DC still got it but he's not driving in full potential, he can push it more but looks like he's just enjoying it rather than making a very fast lap with it. Hats off to this great man.

    @@Charlie_Gaze Hehe you thought that was an on the limit lap? It´s easy to tell he knows how to drive on the limit but he was nowhere close to that. That was my point. It annoys me people get to drive these combos and then dont go near the limits. Nothing unvalid about my opinion. Unnecessary perhaps.

    Zandvoort is one thing, Brands has basically not enough runoff to allow the current cars to safely go around, plus its pit facilities are just as lackluster as Zandvoort's, and We already have Silverstone going on.

    The cars these days could lap Brands in under a minute. It would either need to be lengthened or have some of its corners slowed down (preferably the former).

    I'm glad they're gone, hated the screamers from the mid 90s onwards they're just strangled cats. They just scream, i like to hear an engine bark, howl and roar. Cap the rev limit at 14 or 15000 maximum.

    Makes you think what a ‘push/ qulai’ lap would be like round the gp circuit… dread to think what a wheel on the grass would do too, you’d need some big balls to send it round Brands in a modern F1 (one of my best memories was watching the historic f1 race at brands a few years back, the sound of the cars and seeing them swarm through paddock hill at the start was unreal. You could hear them starting up in the pits at the back of the circuit, it’ll make your hair stand)

    I was there watching this, it was very strange. The whole circuit, including the spectators, were silent waiting for dc to come out. Then the noise came. My god!!!!!! He was the only car on track and it completely took over the circuit. The celebratory doughnuts were good too. A very special thing to witness

    I love the traqck, but I believe it would produce really boring races in modern F1. There are few overtaking spots and also the track overall is very narrow compared to more modern F1 tracks. Also there'd have to be a massive overhaul of pretty much all the runoff areas for safety concerns, even more so after Saturdays events.

    This lap was around 1:22 so quite slow for an F1. David left a lot in the corners and was breaking very early. Would love to see an actual aggressive lap with this beast of a car on Brands.

    Yeah about that. Red Bull Racing couldve ordered a V8 from Honda, that fulfilled the homologation rules that were in place back in 2011. I dont think Red Bull Racing is still using the Renault Power Units for the "showcars"

    @@LawrenceAbramoff Renault is having to do a shit ton of catch up facilities wise as they have been underfunded since around 2008, and they dropped Nico on good terms, he wasn't happy being at the team and so they let him go. Nico's most likely going to be in the HAAS next year which hopefully will have its issues sorted out so that it can perform well so you really shouldn't feel bad for him being dropped by the Renault Works team.

    @@drysocks4957 Yes, we know Honda is the current sponsor and engine supplier. So it is misleading to have the name on a Renault powered car. They didn't need to put either names there.

    The car spec didn't change (i pretty sure), but it is not uncommon to run the livery you are using while racing and all the sponsors used as well. It is done for demonstration like this but also in a lot of other series. For exemple lower single seater categories, young rallycross championships and many more.

    RB7 with an Honda engine ? (it effectively sounds different than a Renault engine) By the way, DC could have go faster, I would love to see a modern-era F1 car going flat-out on this track, puting a time record that would never be broken :)

    @@michaellongstaff3588 What timothee is talking about is that Red Bull at this point in time have run out of Renault engines for its demo cars. They've had Honda engineer new V8 engines for the demo cars but I don't know if this one is the Renault or Honda engine but to me it sounds like the Renault. There's a video of the Red bull going around an oval test track from around a year ago with the Honda engine in and it sounds noticeably different.

    I went to the last ever Grand Prix at Brands Hatch and I'd love to see F1 return. Seriously doubt that it will ever happen as it's not up to modern FIA standards, we did race at some questionable tracks in 2020 in that short season when Covid hit! Brands had a nice intimate feel to it whereas Silverstone is wide open spaces feels totally different not bad just different feel to it..

    I believe pretty much all teams do it other than Ferrari, but they only do it for the show cars, pretty sure the cars have the original livery on the teams' museums

    Not only the cylinders but blown diffuser makes a difference too. Also turbo seems to "mute" the engine a bit.

    A Regular Alabaman Girl Brands Hatch would be terrible for the F1 calendar. Even without all the municipal noise complaints, the runoff areas are nonexistent, the pits are old like Zandvoort's and the overtaking spots are near impossible for current F1 cars

    @@jasperli yeah but Brands Hatch is a Fast Track and it's also good for close racing so when it comes to overtaking it will be more of a challenge but I do understand Brands Hatch will need a full Restoration if it wants to be on the F1 Calendar

    unless they got an old Honda engine from when they were thier own team and modified the car to put it in then I would guess it is a Renault in the back of it with the 2019 livery
