I go anywhere, the reason I don’t b often go north is the cost. The way to get the cost down, is to have a few cars at your venue to share the costs.

So how can you tell which camshaft is fitted to an A+ engine?

  • @ACDodd

    By measuring it in situ.

At 4:50, Did you really need a new dizzy? Dont have a collection of different springs in your kit by now ?

  • @ACDodd

It is impossible to change springs and set the advance curve to the accuracy required without the use of a dizzy machine. Any one who thinks otherwise is unaware of the accuracy required to achieve the desired advance characteristics. Secondly material may also need to be added and removed from the mechanism to deliver the required advance length. There is insufficient time to do all this while on the ground working in a car. The dizzy used in this example is not new, it has been reworked by my in my own workshop. This option is much cheaper than fitting a new unit.

@@ACDodd Its not impossible to change springs ?? (quite easily) A timing light n tacho kinda lets you know what you've done, but your right, it doesnt graph bobweight mass.

I’m wondering two things… can you work this same magic for a bmw 2002 (e10) With a Weber 32/36 and a mechanical distributor? I’m having the same issues. Iv got so far on the fueling. But setting timing properly is beyond me. Or do I need to find a bmw (m10 engined m10b20) expert. Thanks
