On The Hunt Ep.22 Kenworth '56 Needle-Nose at Auction
#onthehunt #twinsticks #twinstickgarage
On this “On the Hunt” episode I’m back at the local auction yard to look at potential future projects. I wasn’t planning on going back to Ritchie Bros so soon, but a few fans send me some pics of some classic iron that you just don’t see everyday, so I had to go down and take a closer look. The 1st was an old 60’s B-model Mack with sticks that was beautifully restored. Then as I was looking for the other gem I came across a handle of neat old trucks including some Kenworths, Pete’s and a Caterpillar semi that are kinda rare. Finally, after walking the whole yard, I found the unicorn, a 1956 needle nose Kenworth that was meticulously restored and looked like a diamond sitting up on the display platform. What a neat old truck, but too bad it went for more than my budget would allow. Hope you enjoy following me around…
Subscribe for notifications for future episodes that I do my best to upload new videos weekly on Thursdays and enjoy watching the progress of my #ProjectSnowman 1979 Kenworth W900A Smokey and the Bandit project, the ongoing #LittleByLittle Peterbilt 359 restoration and the upcoming #IronDuke Kenworth K100 cabover I’m planning to build up like the one used in the 70’s trucking movie High Ballin’ with Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda.

Always a good to come home and relax after a long day at work to some "on the hunt" videos. Need more of these. Great job
Your one of my research sources for historically accurate game mods. Please don’t stop climbing in trucks!
I never get bored of the On the Hunt series, I always look forward to enjoy these videos. Keep em coming
Keep these "On the hunt" videos coming. I love seeing big trucks especially old ones, cabovers & other auction/field gold.
Those cat trucks to the best of my knowledge were just rebranded internationals because cats engines couldn’t meet EPA standards. those “cat” engines are also just an international painted yellow
@cargotoolshop5319

You are correct, a rebranded international, both companies were going broke during those days

Those cat ct engines utilize a cat block and bottom end and Navistar international designed a head to fit the block that utilized all of the international emissions equipment.

@@mikeshultz1007 don't know much about them but that doesn't sound good, international used a man engine as the max force and international emission system, that didn't work out well either, if only the government would stop stepping on our toes

Rebranded max force I think

And now Cat trucks is no more; stopped production here and Australia. I thought it was a cool idea, but they couldn’t make it work. Come to think of it, I don’t think International is selling trucks in Oz either, only the 9800i cab over in NZ.
Never bored i would love to see more off these kinde video's
Agreed on the trailer wrap.! And it’s a must have!
I for one don't get bored not ever On the Hunt is my favorite series. Might be a rare rebuild episodes that get dull but never an on the Hunt.
As someone who absolutely adores big trucks. I never get tired of climbing up inside.
I love how you put the sale price of these!👍🏻
The Samuri... points to the winch "He must have needed you a lot". I had to pause it. Laughed my stacks off!!
back in the 70s my grandfather had a 50s model dump truck. i just love the look of old diesel cabs, the late 40s and early 50s do look like simi trucks their so small looking compared to today's trucks.
I love when you go look at the trucks even the scrapyard as well interesting always learn something.
there is nothing better than those old 351 needle nose petes
like that pete with set in bunk
Just learned how to drive a duplex in a 1965 B model model Mack. Now I completely understand the addiction to the sticks. Was the best time of my life
Thanks for taking us along. Great start to the day.
I do like all your videos, but my favorites are the "On The Hunt". .Also, I like the Corvette dashes in the Pete. . I would like at least one weekly..We appreciate you from way down in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
loved that 79 gmc fire truck
I had to stop the bus to comment on"standing in the rain with rubber boots on bidding on things at auctions...your 100% right sir ..them were the god ole days ..the good deals...hot dogs and hamburgers...kids running round..lol ..I was one of them kids back then...I use to go withy uncle...he loved old stuff..maybe that's where I got it...old Fords, old semi trucks .old grain trucks ...I miss it dear...this on line stuff just isn't what you call fun...ok .now back to my regular schedule programming on Twinsticks TV 😉🤘🇺🇸 SALUTE 🇨🇦
them international lonestars are growing on me
The CAT was definitely my favorite.
I like these videos and the junk yard videos just as much as the others. Thanks for taking us along!
White Volvo Western Star old school trucks are so kool 😎
I recently seen a flannel philip video of a Marmon cabover with a yellow painted Cummins.
These are my favorite videos of yours. Lived the car auction life for some years and still play with em..
Wow what a trip to the auction I use to ride with my Dad in a truck just like that brings back such pleasant memories he is 94 now and still with us I showed him your video and he started in with the old trucker stories thank you so much twin sticks for the trip back in time keep up the good work love your videos
The black Pete was set up to pull Pneumatics. You put a rigid damn trailer behind a spring ride tractor and it can be an awful day! Air ride on the steer axle probably gave him quite a bit of relief.
Can’t get enough of your visits to the auction videos. The best.
That old KW at the end is beautiful well worth the wait thank you for sharing your love of trucks. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
Never get bored of seeing inside trucks!
Not a dull second🤠
I love the the old needle nose Peterbuilts , the needle nose Peterbuilt from the movie Duel is a great truck.
Man I spent thirty years being an owner operator and all I ever bought was Kenworth so you get in all them trucks you want to I'm never bored
Love these vids. See a lot of Mack’s. Never any older superliners. We had a 80s model stretched out with a long hood. Took 2 football fields to turn. Thank you for sharing
Nice truck
"what kind of mileage does it get" "All of it but in reverse"
Nice looking kenworth w925
i love your hunt videos so dont stop doing them and auction ones are cool .... its a unique chance to look at trucks from all periods and makes
Definitely not bored of seeing the trucks at auction.. another good video, God bless..
That Mack is the first truck I learned to drive in the late sixties, I thought the transmission was a triplex, those were the good old days when things were simpler. I like the old 379 long nose Peterbilt with a KTA 600 engine . There was a 1991 Freightliner with the three color blue stripes that I put a lot of miles on . Brings back a lot of memories I’m like you, can walk around for days looking at trucks and never get tired. Keep safe my friend.
Love the new logo, Marc! Another great video, thank you!
Love both the builds and the on the hunt videos👍🏻
Love that old Mack Been wanting to convert one to a pickup type
I love looking at these old trucks. I want to do that locally some day, just drive around enjoying the old iron.
I made a career change in 2006 and climbed out of the truck...I sure miss it. I need to find an auction like this just to kill some time. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video.
I never get bored of your walks through trucks and history and explaining the history of trucks that most of us don't know but their is nothing like the look of the old long noses going down the highway the looks of this modern day eurodynamic garbage they can keep it has no appeal other than a smidge of fuel mileage
At 2:56, I saw in the back isle a White/GMC high cabover. Wish you would have looked at that. Drove a 1988 in the Marine Corps, L-10 Cummins with a 9 speed. Had that truck all to myself because nobody liked it, but it at least had air ride and air conditioning out in the Mojave desert, and the Jake would put you thru the windshield if you didn't have your lap-belt on. Good old days.
the truck auctions are great fun to watch. keep it on.
Never bored, love them all.
Beautiful ole KW
Never be bored mr twin sticks have yet to see a video i dont like anything you wanna put on the channel i always watch
Love That 56 KW
These on the hunt vids are great and that 65 year old needle nose Kenny with 86456 hrs on it is awesome thanks for that look around the auctions
Some fantastic old trucks there. The single headlights Kenworths look great.
Wonderfull machine goin to museum
Please don’t stop these!! Love these videos

I'd love to get a twin stick. Would never have to worry about someone moving it again. Lol
On the hunt videos are the best! Cheers!
ahh a b model mack...a pleasure to see. thank you!
watching from England & loving the rigs
Single stack mack with a window in the back!!
Love these episodes,my dad sent one of his trucks to auction and you showed it in a previous video cool to go back and look at it on here.
Love the videos, and your projects. Keep up the awesome work man
Needle nose is one of my favorite trucks!!
The cat Truck I've been told has a international workforce engine in it with Caterpillar valve covers on it
Woo woo 4 th one here😂👍👍
Thanks for all your work, I have learned so much watching you videos ....you answer my thoughts before I even know the questions. Case in point, on that long hood Pete..... 1,000,000 miles 20,000 hours average speed 50 miles an hour! Now I can see if odometer match hour meters..ha. Watching your videos makes me realize, I've always had a soft place in my head for trucks.....and now in the next couple of days I will find out if the one I've located has any potential for me.
Motor in that Cat truck was a C15 Regen. Basically the reason Cat gave up on over the road engines. The EPA bit them. Pull the emissions crap off the engine and that truck will be just as good as a Peterbilt.
awsome video mark some really nice trucks out there for sure i really like that displayed kentworth too really nice definally took really good care of it thumbs up and shared
I love the on the hunt episodes
I thought the saying was "if it dont go, chrome it" Well, at least that's how I learned it. haha! another great video! thanks!
Wow that KW needle nose at the end 🙌🏻👍🏻
Really enjoy the on the hunt videos
If I had the cash; I would have bought that Kennie myself 😎👍👍👍
Woah, thats an expensive old truck, like you said, that's a gem, pretty sure that new owner will enjoy that truck
that old army truck with the reverse gear over and up, says one thing that is a Spicer transmission. same as a spicer Aux. trans, high was up to the dash beside first. Drove two stick for over 30 years. first two stick i drove was a 66 dodge 800 with a 3608 v 8 kitty with a paired up spicer 5/4 in it, that 56 kenny did not have original steering wheel also. then graduated to a 76 Hayes HD 400 big cam 15 over spicer 4 aux.
Oh Mark, those film clips are a hoot, man, you must have some memory. Great vid though bud, take care looking forward to the next one. 👍🏻👏🏻🇬🇧
im pretty sure that cat truck had a cat block with maxforce heads , keep up the great vids!!!
That gorgeous B model Mack…what a buy
There's a needle nose Pete that runs around by me in paving season. Don't know what's been done to her but always clean as a whistle. Painted a "Fanny May" mint green with black fenders. A real gem.
Like pretty much all your content, especially love the on the hunt episodes. I am a semi truck junky. That cat truck was actually built by international 😳. Same with the motor. So happy you passed on it.
I haven’t seen a tattletale 30 years. The clock had a paper disk speed time a a 3 rd line to show cheating ( but can be beaten)

I started driving for Safeway in 1985 and we had the tachographs in the old freight liner cab overs. 350 Cummins with a 10 speed. No power steering, no AC, no radio. Now Safeway has Volvos with 12 speed automatics with all of the safety features and conveniences for the driver. I retired 33 years later.
Neat stuff !
Woo Hoo! Second guy here!
