I've been a regular follower of your videos for the past 4-5 months but saw this just now. Unlike your newer videos, this one was much faster and certain of Mill's quotes take some time to digest and process to appreciate them fully. This made the pace of the video a tad much than I'd have liked it to be. I think your newer videos are paced much better. Thanks as always for making these video essays. I really appreciate the work you put in!

Excellent Video you have done a great service to society by allowing those who struggle to understand Mill now after this video understand Mill.

I think you can with the right teacher or enough time. I had to pause the video a bunch and reread a quote several times and watch the video again too. Many times it wasn’t that a concept was too hard to understand but just that I had to chew on his words and figure out wtf he’s saying.

You should read the book, it’s pretty short and not difficult.

It's not that difficult . It's about an individuals rights within a collective oppressive majority.

I enjoyed this video. It makes me think of the emergence if the idea of freedom originally inspired by Stowe and articulated in his gardens by Capability Brown

I love your videos, they're great help. Would you consider making one for Mill and Taylor's Principles of Political Economy? :)

Thank you! I'm a little bit Mill-ed out after doing On Liberty and Utilitarianism! But I will try and come back to him in a couple of months! At the moment I'm working on a John Locke video

It seems that adding the parameter of climate change where earth is a sort of entity with rights, a placeholder for the human future, creates a harder dilemma for his theory.

Judging Mills for his opinions about foreign despotism is a bit anachronistic.
